Summary
Join us for an incredible opportunity to be a part of our Security leadership team as our Area Assistant Director of Security based out of the Grand Hyatt Seattle. The Area Assistant Director of Security will support our multi-property cluster comprised of Hyatt at Olive 8, Grand Hyatt Seattle, and Hyatt Regency Seattle.

The Assistant Director of Security is responsible for the oversight of safety and security of the hotel. This person will respond to guest and employee emergencies, complete incident reports and supervise the security staff. They will also be responsible for scheduling shifts, payroll, and overseeing the training program. This is an Assistant Manager level position, and will report to the Area Director of Security.
The salary range for this position is $80,170.00 to $100,800. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications, and education.

Qualifications

- Refined verbal and written communication skills (a written incident report will be part of the interview process)
- (5) years or more of security experience preferred
- Experienced leader with proven methods for developing, strengthening, and sustaining high-performing and high-engagement teams
- Assertive leader committed to fostering accountability across the Security team
- Demonstrates a positive mindset with an eagerness to learn
- Passion to successfully train and mentor other team members, with a particular focus on New Hire Onboarding
- Remains composed under pressure, taking decisive and assertive leadership during emergency situations
- Strong ability to de-escalate high-stress situations, including those involving individuals in distress or experiencing heightened emotional or behavioral concerns, while leading with empathy and professionalism
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and overnights; shift duration will depend on staffing and business levels across the hotels, special events, etc.
- Ability to render first aid and CPR to the extent of certifications held
- Valid driver’s license with ability to drive on behalf of Hotel preferred
