Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Medical Sales Representative
Align your degree to the role
Medical sales positions require a degree in life sciences, nursing, business, or a related field to meet specialty occupation criteria. If your Australian three-year bachelor's matches the role's subject matter, document the equivalency explicitly in your application.
Target device and pharma companies first
Medical device manufacturers and pharmaceutical distributors file LCAs most consistently for sales roles. Search DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway to verify which companies have certified LCAs for Medical Sales Representative positions before reaching out.
Confirm the job posting requires a degree
The E-3 specialty occupation requirement fails if the job ad says 'bachelor's preferred' rather than 'required.' Ask your hiring contact to confirm the offer letter and LCA reflect a degree as a genuine prerequisite, not just a preference.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service early
Once you have a verbal offer, start the LCA process immediately. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the DOL certification, visa paperwork, and consulate preparation so you're not scrambling between offer acceptance and your start date.
Negotiate your start date around consulate slots
E-3 processing at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth consulates can take two to six weeks once your LCA is certified. Build that window into your offer negotiation so your employer's start date is realistic and doesn't pressure you into rushing paperwork.
Check E-Verify enrollment before accepting
Ask whether your prospective employer is enrolled in E-Verify before signing. Some healthcare distributors and device companies require it for federally contracted work, and USCIS will flag discrepancies between your work authorization and their verification system.

Find Medical Sales Representative JobsMedical Sales Representative E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Medical Sales Representative jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Medical Sales Representative roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Most general job boards don't filter by visa type, so you end up cold-applying with no idea whether the company has any experience with Australian work visas. Migrate Mate surfaces roles with sponsorship context so you can target your search more effectively.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Medical Sales Representative role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It can, but the position must genuinely require a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as life sciences, nursing, or business. Roles that accept any degree in any discipline or treat education as optional won't satisfy the specialty occupation standard. The strength of your application depends on how clearly the job duties and offer letter connect to your specific degree field.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Medical Sales Representative positions?
The E-3 has a significant structural advantage for Australians: there's no lottery, no annual cap backlog, and applications go directly to a consulate rather than through USCIS. An H-1B registration enters a random lottery with roughly a one-in-four chance of selection. For a Medical Sales Representative with a qualifying degree and a U.S. job offer, the E-3 is a far more predictable path to starting work.
Can I switch medical sales employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but each employer change requires a new LCA certified by the DOL and a new E-3 visa application, typically at a consulate. Unlike some visa types, the E-3 doesn't allow a simple employer amendment filed with USCIS. If you're moving to a new company, plan for two to six weeks of processing time before your new start date and confirm the new employer's offer letter meets specialty occupation requirements.
