- Own Launch Execution: Create readiness checklists, launch trackers, risk registers, decision logs and stabilization plans.
- Build Operating Cadences: Establish weekly business reviews, launch readiness forums, issue triage cadences and other highly cross-functional meetings.
- Manage Performance Metrics: Use operational data to drive clear recommendations for leadership, internal teams and partner stakeholders.
- Own Change Management: Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Training, Analytics, Safety and external partners to ensure product and process changes are ready for operational deployment.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in operations, program management, product operations, consulting, strategy or analytics
- Bachelor's degree

- Experience with remote assistance, remote support, technical support, command center operations or real-time operational workflows.
- Experience managing complex operational programs involving cross-functional internal teams and external partners or vendors.
- Experience building operational readiness plans, launch frameworks, process documentation, performance management mechanisms and governance structures.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience defining metrics, interpreting operational data, building scorecards and using data to drive decisions.
- Strong technical fluency, with the ability to quickly understand complex tools, workflows, systems and product constraints.
- Experience working with Product, Engineering, Operations, Analytics, Training, Safety, Compliance or similar technical and operational teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level updates, business reviews or decision documents.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, impose structure and drive alignment without direct authority.
- Strong judgment, attention to detail and comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $162,000 per year - USD $180,000 per year.

Frame your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree satisfies the E-3 visa specialty occupation requirement. Translate your qualifications into U.S.-equivalent terms on your resume so hiring managers don't question whether your degree supports the visa.
Target employers with existing LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for companies that have filed LCAs for operations roles. These employers already understand the E-3 process and won't stall at the sponsorship conversation.
Clarify the specialty occupation case before accepting an offer
Operations Lead titles cover a wide range of responsibilities. Before signing, confirm the role's job description explicitly requires a degree in a specific field, not just any bachelor's degree. A generalist job description can create problems at the consulate.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork
Once you have an offer, your employer must file the LCA with DOL before you can apply for the visa. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment, removing the burden from employers who haven't done it before.
Address dual intent questions before your consular interview
The E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, and consular officers will probe your intent to return to Australia. Prepare a clear, factual answer about your ties to Australia and the temporary nature of the role before your interview.
Align your start date with the LCA certification timeline
DOL typically certifies LCAs within seven business days, but operations roles with complex worksite arrangements can take longer. Build at least three weeks of buffer between your offer acceptance and your target start date.
E-3 Visa Operations Lead: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Operations Lead jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for E-3 visa sponsorship roles in the U.S. You can filter by job title, industry, and employer sponsorship history to find Operations Lead positions where companies have already demonstrated willingness to sponsor. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to employers unfamiliar with the E-3 process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Operations Lead role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined. The E-3 requires the position to normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, not just any degree. An Operations Lead overseeing supply chain, logistics, or process engineering supported by a relevant degree qualifies. A broadly defined management role where any business background is acceptable may not clear the specialty occupation bar at a consulate.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Operations Lead roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian nationals, but it has a significant structural advantage: there is no lottery. H-1B visa cap-subject petitions require winning a random selection, which means qualified candidates can be locked out for years. The E-3 has an annual allocation of 10,500 visas that has never been fully used, so eligible Australians in operations roles can apply any time of year and expect a straightforward consular review.
Can I switch Operations Lead employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but you need to restart the process with your new employer. Your current E-3 is tied to the specific employer and LCA that supported your original application. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll generally need a new visa stamp before starting. Plan for at least three to four weeks of lead time between accepting a new offer and your first day.
