Business Data Technologies (BDT) provides trustworthy, intuitive, and cost-efficient solutions for Amazonians to secure, store, analyze, and transform this data at unparalleled scale. BDT owns, develops, and operates Andes, one of the largest data lakes in the world, storing 3+ exabytes of data, read/written to by 100k+ data pipelines, with >60k monthly active users. To do this, we need extraordinary individuals to build the next generation of data analytics, machine learning, and AI solutions for thousands of scientists, engineers, and analysts who rely upon us to get their jobs done.

As a Principal Technical Program Manager in the BDT-AI4ME organization, you understand ways that enterprises apply AI to solve business and technical problems. Key job responsibilities
You focus on the needs of business users as they navigate data from question to insight. You formulate goals and plans for transforming the ways Amazon extracts value from its data through iterative improvements involving AI enablement, process optimization, role guidelines, and org design.
As part of a broader team, you collaborate with other technical program managers to ensure that work in your space aligns with work and plans of other teams across BDT and other organizations. You establish mechanisms for inspection and awareness of progress across cross cutting initiatives.
Data drives your “flywheel”. You analyze data to glean insights that drive experimentation. You leverage data such as service telemetry, user feedback, and industry trends to surface opportunities for improvement. You take what’s proven and partner with Amazon organizations to apply and scale it. You define, implement, and monitor metrics that track your progress.
You partner with Amazon’s business orgs to test hypotheses and deploy AI-based solutions to reduce friction and risk of errors in the ways that businesses use data.
You give feedback on narratives, contribute to strategy (e.g., OP1 planning), set goals, discuss weekly business metrics, and more.
You partner with Amazon’s PXT organization to evolve and optimize roles guidelines and org design best practices to align with the way businesses are evolving their practices around getting insights from their data.
You partner with engineering, human resources, legal, documentation, solution architecture, privacy, finance, and more to optimize usage of the Andes data lake for AI-based methodologies.
As an owner, you hold yourself and partners accountable for the highest quality user outcomes.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Maintenance Manager
Document your degree's equivalency early
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees in engineering or facilities management are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees, but have a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator ready before you start applying.
Target employers with facilities management teams
Manufacturing plants, hospital networks, commercial real estate firms, and university campuses all maintain large in-house maintenance teams and regularly sponsor E-3 visa workers for Maintenance Manager roles overseeing multi-site operations.
Search verified E-3 sponsors using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find Maintenance Manager roles with confirmed E-3 sponsorship history. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment, so you can focus on the interviews.
Clarify the specialty occupation requirement upfront
Not every Maintenance Manager role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Push HR to confirm the position requires a specific technical degree, not just any bachelor's degree, before you invest time in their interview process.
Ask your employer to file the LCA before your start date
Your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL before the consulate appointment. LCA certification typically takes seven business days, so align your offer acceptance timeline to give HR enough runway.
Carry your LCA and offer letter to the consulate interview
Consular officers will verify that your Maintenance Manager role meets E-3 specialty occupation standards on the day of your interview. Bring the certified LCA, your offer letter specifying the required degree, and your credential evaluation.
E-3 Visa Maintenance Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Maintenance Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Maintenance Manager roles with confirmed E-3 sponsorship. Most generic job boards don't filter by visa type, so you end up cold-applying to employers who have never heard of the E-3. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with active sponsorship history so you're not starting that education from scratch in every interview.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Maintenance Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
It depends on how the role is defined. A Maintenance Manager position qualifies when the employer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a directly related field as a minimum entry requirement. Roles where any degree, regardless of field, satisfies the requirement, or where experience substitutes for a degree, can be harder to support at the consulate. Ask the employer to confirm the degree requirement is in the job description before proceeding.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Maintenance Manager roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply at any point in the year once you have a job offer. The H-1B visa runs a lottery each spring with roughly a one-in-four selection rate, and you'd wait until October 1 to start work even if selected. For Maintenance Manager roles, where the specialty occupation argument is already doing heavy lifting, avoiding the H-1B lottery and its delays is a practical advantage.
Can I switch Maintenance Manager employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes. You can change employers on an E-3, but you need a new LCA and a new visa stamp tied to the new employer before you start work. Your current E-3 is employer-specific, so the new employer files a fresh LCA with DOL and you attend a new consulate appointment. You cannot use your existing E-3 stamp to start work with a different company, even in the same role.
