Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Supply Chain Planner
Translate your Australian credentials early
U.S. employers and USCIS assess whether your degree aligns with the specific supply chain planner role. A three-year Australian bachelor's is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree, but document that equivalency before interviews begin.
Filter employers by LCA filing history
Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for supply chain or logistics roles. Past LCA filings signal an employer already understands E-3 visa sponsorship mechanics, which shortens the offer-to-start timeline significantly.
Clarify job scope in your offer letter
The LCA and DS-160 require a precise job title and duties. Vague offer letters listing broad responsibilities across procurement, demand planning, and inventory can create specialty occupation questions at the consulate. Get role-specific language agreed on before the LCA is filed.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA
The LCA must be DOL-certified before your visa interview. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so your employer isn't navigating government portals for the first time while you're waiting on a start date.
Address specialty occupation proactively for hybrid roles
Supply chain planner positions that blend administrative coordination with analytical work can attract specialty occupation scrutiny. Prepare a role justification showing that the position normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific discipline, not just any field.
Time your consulate appointment around employer timelines
E-3 visas are issued at Australian consulates, not through USCIS, so your start date depends on appointment availability in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth. Confirm appointment lead times with your employer before you agree on a joining date in your offer negotiation.
E-3 Visa Supply Chain Planner: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Supply Chain Planner jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles that include E-3 sponsorship. Rather than filtering through generic job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces supply chain and logistics positions where employers have active sponsorship history, saving you from applying to roles where E-3 is never going to be on the table.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Supply Chain Planner role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, in most cases. USCIS assesses specialty occupation based on whether the role normally requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations management. Roles focused on data-driven demand forecasting, inventory optimization, or S&OP planning carry stronger specialty occupation arguments than general coordination positions. The specific duties in your offer letter matter.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Supply Chain Planner roles?
The H-1B visa requires winning an annual lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate, then waiting until October 1 of the following fiscal year to start. The E-3 has no lottery and no cap, so you can apply and start as soon as your LCA is certified and your consulate appointment clears. For supply chain roles where employers need predictable hiring timelines, the E-3 is a materially faster and more reliable path.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Supply Chain Planner?
Yes, but you cannot port to the new employer the way H-1B holders can under portability rules. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL, and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if yours is tied to your previous employer. Some professionals handle this at an Australian consulate rather than applying from within the U.S., depending on their travel plans and timeline.
