Translate your Australian credentials clearly
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees satisfy the E-3 visa degree requirement, but your employer's immigration attorney may need a credential evaluation. Get your transcripts assessed before the offer stage so nothing slows down LCA filing.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's OFLC disclosure data for companies that have filed LCAs for logistics, supply chain, or operations coordinator roles. Prior filings signal a legal team already familiar with the E-3 process, which shortens your path to an approved petition.
Find E-3 sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Logistics Coordinator roles by employers with E-3 sponsorship history. Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from certification through consulate appointment.
Confirm the role meets specialty occupation standards
Not every logistics title qualifies as a specialty occupation. Check that the job description explicitly requires a degree in supply chain, business, or engineering, not just a preference. A job posting that says 'degree preferred' can be grounds for a visa denial.
Ask your employer about prevailing wage early
The DOL requires your employer to certify the offered salary meets the prevailing wage for your location and job title before your LCA is approved. Raise this in the offer negotiation so there are no surprises when USCIS or the consulate reviews the paperwork.
Schedule your consulate appointment before starting work
You cannot begin work in the U.S. until after your visa interview and passport return. Build at least three to six weeks of lead time into your start date to account for consulate appointment availability and processing at Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth.
E-3 Visa Logistics Coordinator: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Logistics Coordinator jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Logistics Coordinator roles with E-3 sponsorship. The platform surfaces employers who have an active history of sponsoring Australian professionals, so you're not applying blind. Standard job boards list roles without filtering for sponsorship willingness, which wastes time at the offer stage.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Logistics Coordinator role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
It depends on how the employer defines the position. The role qualifies if the employer requires a bachelor's degree or higher in supply chain management, business, industrial engineering, or a closely related field as a genuine minimum. Roles where any degree satisfies the requirement regardless of field, or where experience substitutes freely for a degree, are harder to support at the consulate.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Logistics Coordinator roles in the U.S.?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens and has no lottery, so there's no random selection risk. You can apply as soon as you have a job offer and a certified LCA. The H-1B visa requires entering a lottery with roughly 25% selection odds and a mandatory October 1 start date. For logistics professionals who have a concrete offer, the E-3 timeline is far more predictable.
Can I change employers or roles after arriving on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but each employer change requires a new LCA certification and, in most cases, a new visa stamp at a consulate. You can work for the new employer once USCIS acknowledges the new petition if you're changing status inside the U.S., but consular processing requires a fresh appointment. Plan for two to four weeks of lead time between your last day with one employer and your first day with the next.
