Mid Level EHS Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level ehs manager job?
Position your experience around ownership, not just participation. Highlight programs you built or improved, audits you led independently, and regulatory interactions you handled directly. Employers at this level want to see that you can manage an EHS function with limited supervision, so frame every bullet on your resume around outcomes, reductions in incident rates, or compliance milestones you drove rather than tasks you supported.
Which companies hire mid level ehs managers?
Companies hiring mid level ehs managers right now include Amazon, Congruex, and Spreetail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mid-size manufacturers, general contractors, energy operators, and logistics companies tend to hire most actively at this level because they need someone who can own an EHS program without requiring a large team beneath them.
Are there remote mid level ehs manager jobs?
Yes, though most ehs manager roles at this level require some on-site presence given the nature of safety work. About 3% of mid level ehs manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common at companies that have multiple facilities or a corporate EHS function that supports field operations.
How do I move up to a mid level ehs manager role?
The path from entry level to mid level ehs manager is built through progressively independent work. Starting out, you support audits and maintain records. Over time, the goal is to own discrete projects, such as a training program rollout or a permit compliance calendar, and to demonstrate measurable impact. Pursuing a CSP or CHMM credential and gaining experience across more than one regulatory framework, such as OSHA, EPA, and DOT, signals readiness for a mid level scope.
Which industries hire the most mid level ehs managers?
Mid Level ehs manager roles concentrate in E-Commerce & Online Marketplaces, Technology & Software, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate under strict OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements, face real consequences from incidents or violations, and need experienced professionals who can manage compliance programs with a degree of autonomy.
