Electrical Engineer Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a electrical engineer job in Jacksonville?
Focus your search on Jacksonville's strongest hiring sectors: Naval Air Station Jacksonville and its defense contractors, JEA and other utilities along the St. Johns River corridor, and the manufacturing and industrial facilities concentrated on the Northside and Westside. Candidates with power systems, controls, or RF engineering experience move fastest in this market. Networking through local IEEE Jacksonville Section events also gives you a practical edge over remote applicants.
Which companies hire electrical engineers in Jacksonville?
Employers hiring electrical engineers in Jacksonville right now include MSA Professional Services, CORYS, and Mott MacDonald, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Jacksonville's hiring mix skews toward defense contractors and government-adjacent firms near NAS Jacksonville, utilities, and large industrial operations on the city's Northside and Westside corridors.
Are there remote electrical engineer jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though only for a subset of the work. Most electrical engineer roles in Jacksonville are hands-on and site-dependent, covering facilities, manufacturing floors, or power infrastructure that requires physical presence. About 83% of electrical engineer openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be design, review, or systems-engineering functions that can be handled off-site.
How can I get a electrical engineer job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is targeting defense contractors and government facilities near NAS Jacksonville that routinely hire junior engineers into structured programs alongside experienced staff. Entry-level controls, electrical design, or field support roles at industrial employers on the Northside are also accessible. A co-op or internship with a Jacksonville utility or shipyard strengthens your resume for this market more than most national alternatives.
