Engineering Intern Jobs in Nashville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a engineering intern job in Nashville?
Focus your search on Nashville's healthcare technology companies clustered in Midtown, advanced manufacturing firms in the Antioch and Lavergne corridors, and infrastructure and civil engineering firms serving the city's rapid construction boom. Candidates who tailor applications to sector-specific tools, show hands-on project work from coursework or student competitions, and connect through Vanderbilt or Belmont career fairs gain a real edge in this market.
Which companies hire engineering interns in Nashville?
Employers hiring engineering interns in Nashville right now include Bohler, S&ME, and Jacobs, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Nashville's mix of health systems, logistics companies, and construction and infrastructure firms makes it a diverse market for engineering internships beyond traditional tech.
Are there remote engineering intern jobs in Nashville?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on the engineering discipline, since hands-on lab, manufacturing, and site roles are almost always on-site while data, software, and analytical engineering work is more remote-friendly. About 50% of engineering intern openings tied to Nashville are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid schedules most common among health informatics and software-adjacent roles headquartered downtown.
How can I get a engineering intern job in Nashville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through Nashville's large health systems and their affiliated technology teams, which regularly take on engineering interns with limited prior experience if coursework is relevant. Local infrastructure and civil engineering firms supporting Nashville's construction surge also hire project support interns. Building a portfolio of academic or personal projects and attending career events hosted by Vanderbilt, Tennessee State, or Lipscomb University strengthens a first-time application considerably.
