Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist (EHS Specialist)

Location: Phoenix, AZ *On-Site*

Pay: $75,000 - $90,000/annually *Dependent on experience*

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Occasional flexibility is required to support off-shift operations, training, audits, incident investigations, and emergency response activities.

Position Summary:

We're seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) professional to help maintain a safe, compliant, and sustainable workplace. This role partners with employees, leaders, and contractors to support EHS programs, conduct risk assessments, deliver training, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and workplace hazards
• Lead corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations
• Support hazardous waste, chemical management, and environmental programs
• Deliver employee safety training and new hire EHS orientation
• Assist with emergency preparedness, drills, and response activities
• Track, analyze, and report EHS metrics and compliance data
• Participate in facility, equipment, and process improvement projects
• Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 1-3 years of EHS experience, OR High school diploma (or equivalent) with 5-8 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or industrial settings
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Self-starter with a proactive, can-do attitude
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, and compliance assessments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS management systems

• HAZWOPER Certification
• DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation
• IATA Dangerous Goods
• RCRA Hazardous Waste Management
• First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
• Industrial Hygiene
• Occupational Safety, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, and Process Safety Management
• Construction Safety
• Regulatory Compliance (OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable regulations)
• Risk Assessments and Hazard Analysis
• Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
• Hazardous Materials and Waste Management
• GMP-Regulated Manufacturing Environments

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
