Product Engineering Manager Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product engineering manager in Arizona?
The most direct path is earning a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, gaining several years of hands-on engineering experience, and then moving into a lead or management role. Arizona does not require a state-issued license to work as a product engineering manager, though a Professional Engineer license from the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration can strengthen candidacy at regulated employers in aerospace or defense. An MBA or project management credential also accelerates advancement with major Arizona employers.
How much do product engineering managers make in Arizona?
Product engineering managers in Arizona earn a median of about $167,480 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $121,500 for the lowest 10% to over $249,990 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire product engineering managers in Arizona?
Employers hiring product engineering managers in Arizona right now include Raytheon, DEEL, and onsemi, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Arizona's concentration of semiconductor fabs, aerospace primes, and enterprise technology firms means demand is consistent throughout the year rather than seasonal.
Which Arizona cities have the most product engineering manager jobs?
Phoenix, Tucson, and Scottsdale account for the largest share of product engineering manager openings in Arizona. The Phoenix metro drives most volume due to its density of semiconductor manufacturers, defense contractors, and technology company campuses, while Scottsdale and Chandler attract management-level engineering roles tied to corporate headquarters and advanced manufacturing operations anchored there.
Are there remote product engineering manager jobs in Arizona?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely software-focused disciplines. About 50% of product engineering manager openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the role's frequent need for on-site collaboration with hardware teams and manufacturing floors. The parts of the role most amenable to remote work include roadmap planning, cross-team coordination, and stakeholder reporting.
How can I get hired as a product engineering manager in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is moving into a senior individual contributor role first, then transitioning into a team lead position at an Arizona employer. Large Arizona manufacturers like Intel and Honeywell run associate engineering programs and rotational tracks designed for recent graduates that build cross-functional exposure. Lateral moves from project engineer, systems engineer, or technical program manager roles are common stepping stones, and earning a PMP certification or completing an Arizona State University engineering management certificate can demonstrate readiness for people leadership responsibilities.
Where can I find and apply to product engineering manager jobs in Arizona?
You can find and apply to product engineering manager jobs in Arizona on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arizona openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level, location preference, and industry focus, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
