Product Engineering Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product engineering manager in Florida?
Most Florida employers require a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, often followed by several years of individual contributor experience before moving into management. Florida does not issue a state-specific license for product engineering managers, but candidates in aerospace and defense often benefit from obtaining a Professional Engineer credential through the Florida Board of Professional Engineers. Building a record of shipped products and direct reports is the clearest path forward.
How much do product engineering managers make in Florida?
Product engineering managers in Florida earn a median of about $170,740 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $116,900 for the lowest 10% to over $251,590 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire product engineering managers in Florida?
Employers hiring product engineering managers in Florida right now include Qorvo, EnerSys, and LTIMindtree, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of aerospace primes, defense contractors, and growing fintech and medtech firms means demand for this role is distributed across both large enterprise employers and fast-scaling mid-size companies.
Which Florida cities have the most product engineering manager jobs?
Tampa, Orlando, and Apopka have the most product engineering manager openings in Florida. Orlando anchors much of the demand through its aerospace, defense simulation, and technology corridor, while Miami's fintech and consumer tech ecosystem and Tampa's growing health technology and defense presence pull strong hiring in those metros as well.
Are there remote product engineering manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than many engineering roles, because product engineering managers spend much of their time in planning, coordination, and stakeholder communication rather than hands-on lab work. About 33% of product engineering manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with fully remote positions most common in software-heavy or platform product teams where hardware sign-off is not required on-site.
How can I get hired as a product engineering manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is transitioning from a senior individual contributor role such as systems engineer, software engineer, or mechanical engineer within a Florida employer that promotes internally. Large Florida employers in aerospace and defense, including those operating along the Space Coast and in the Tampa Bay defense corridor, regularly advance engineers into lead and manager roles through internal development programs. Pursuing a Professional Engineer credential through the Florida Board of Professional Engineers and building a visible portfolio of cross-functional project ownership strengthens candidacy significantly.
Where can I find and apply to product engineering manager jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to product engineering manager jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your experience and location preference, then apply directly to each position. No account creation is required to view or apply to the openings listed.
