Environmental Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an environmental job in Dallas?
Focus your search on Dallas's energy sector, civil and environmental consulting firms, and the City of Dallas's Office of Environmental Quality and Sustainability. The Stemmons Corridor and Las Colinas office parks concentrate consulting and engineering employers, while the municipal market anchors downtown. Candidates with experience in stormwater compliance, air quality monitoring, or site remediation are in particularly strong demand locally.
Which companies hire environmentals in Dallas?
Employers hiring environmentals in Dallas right now include Halff, Aramark, and Parkland Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Dallas draws a mix of large engineering and consulting firms, oil and gas operators, and public-sector agencies managing the region's water, air, and land resources.
Are there remote environmental jobs in Dallas?
Yes, but only for desk-based and analytical roles. Field work, site assessments, and compliance inspections are inherently on-site, so fully remote positions are rare in environmental work. About 100% of environmental openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. In Dallas, hybrid arrangements most commonly apply to environmental data analysts, report writers, and permit coordinators.
How can I get an environmental job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is through environmental technician or field sampler roles with mid-size consulting firms, which regularly hire candidates with a relevant degree and no prior professional experience. Dallas employers also take entry-level candidates for stormwater inspection and erosion control work tied to the city's active construction market. Familiarity with GIS software and any coursework in soil or water science strengthens applications considerably.
