Strategy Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy manager in Texas?
Most strategy manager roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or engineering, with employers in energy and technology often favoring candidates from Texas flagship universities such as UT Austin or Rice. No state-issued license is required for this role. Hiring managers look for a combination of analytical experience, cross-functional project work, and demonstrated progression from analyst or associate roles within corporate planning, consulting, or business operations.
Which companies hire strategy managers in Texas?
Employers hiring strategy managers in Texas right now include AMD, Apple, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of energy majors, regional financial institutions, and large technology operations means strategy teams are well-funded and hiring across a broad range of industry verticals.
Which Texas cities have the most strategy manager jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston have the most strategy manager openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its density of energy, petrochemical, and healthcare headquarters, while Dallas draws heavily from financial services, telecom, and retail corporate offices, and Austin's fast-growing technology sector generates consistent demand for strategy talent at both startups and established enterprise companies.
Are there remote strategy manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 70% of strategy manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the work. Strategic planning, competitive analysis, and market research components of the role are the most likely to be performed fully remotely, while roles requiring close executive collaboration often follow a hybrid schedule.
How can I get hired as a strategy manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a strategy associate or business analyst role at a large Texas employer and building toward a strategy manager title from within. Companies like ExxonMobil, American Airlines, and major Texas health systems run structured rotational or leadership development programs that place early-career candidates in corporate strategy functions. Lateral moves from consulting, finance, or operations roles carry strong weight, and an MBA from a Texas program can accelerate the transition significantly.
Where can I find and apply to strategy manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to strategy manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and target industry, and apply directly through the listing.
