VP Of Sales Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a vp of sales in Texas?
The path to a vp of sales role in Texas typically starts with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, followed by years of individual contributor and mid-level sales management experience. Texas requires no state-issued license for sales leadership roles. Employers in Texas's dominant sectors, including enterprise technology in Austin and Dallas and energy services in Houston, strongly favor candidates who have already managed a quota-carrying team and can show a history of hitting revenue targets.
How much do VP of saleses make in Texas?
VP of saleses in Texas earn a median of about $136,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $68,750 for the lowest 10% to over $268,450 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire vp of saless in Texas?
Employers hiring vp of saless in Texas right now include ADP, Jobot, and Cantex Continuing Care Network, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and major regional offices across the technology, energy, and financial services sectors means demand for senior sales leadership remains consistent throughout the year.
Which Texas cities have the most vp of sales jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston account for the most vp of sales openings in Texas. Dallas leads because of its dense cluster of corporate headquarters and enterprise technology firms, Houston draws heavily from the energy and industrial services sectors, and Austin's fast-growing SaaS and cloud company ecosystem has made it a consistent source of senior sales leadership hiring.
Are there remote vp of sales jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most senior roles, since vp of sales work centers on strategy, forecasting, and client relationships that can often be managed without a fixed office. About 55% of vp of sales openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the flexibility many technology and SaaS companies extend to senior leaders. Field-facing roles in energy or manufacturing tend to require more in-person presence than pure software or financial services positions.
How can I get hired as a vp of sales in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is moving from a high-performing individual contributor or sales manager role into a director-level position first, then building toward a VP title. Large Texas-based technology employers in Austin and Dallas and energy services companies in Houston regularly promote from within, and targeting director of sales or regional sales manager openings at those organizations is the clearest bridge. Earning a relevant certification such as a Certified Sales Leadership Professional designation can strengthen a candidacy when formal VP experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to vp of sales jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to vp of sales jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across Dallas, Houston, Austin, and other markets. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match your experience and target industry.
