Summary
At Yelp, our mission is to connect people with great local businesses. We’re seeking a VP of Product Management, Monetization to lead product strategy, vision and execution for overall Yelp monetization. Reporting directly to our Chief Product Officer, you'll oversee how Yelp monetizes, ensuring ad products and platform systems work together across all consumer-facing experiences to deliver value to both sides of the marketplace.
In this senior product leadership role, you’ll inspire and develop exceptional talent, push the state of the art on an industry leading Ad system, set a high bar for product quality, and collaborate with partners across Consumer and Ads Engineering, data science, search relevance, and revenue.
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping how we balance the trade-offs between monetization, business value, and maintaining a delightful user experience. You'll be the voice of our advertisers, from the single-location coffee shop to the multi-location enterprise, ensuring we grow revenue without compromising the quality of the experience for consumers or the businesses we serve.
This role sits at the intersection of product, revenue, data and engineering. It requires a player-coach leader who can engage cross-functional teams to build ad products that drive revenue while enhancing the overall user experience. You'll take the time to deeply understand our local marketplace and customer dynamics before driving change.
We’d love to have you apply, even if you don’t feel you meet every single requirement in this posting. At Yelp, we’re looking for great people, not just those who simply check off all the boxes. This is a full-time remote role based in the United States.
What you'll do:
- Unify the larger organization across Product, Engineering, Operations, and GTM teams under a single vision, increasing momentum of innovation and driving alignment as a player-coach who leads strategically while remaining hands-on in solving complex challenges.
- Set the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for monetization products and platform - aligned with company revenue, advertiser value, and consumer and business experience goals.
- Lead and develop PMs; build strong partnerships with engineering, design, data science, and revenue teams to ensure effective delivery, resourcing, and cross-org alignment.
- Prioritize product investments across competing roadmaps with clear business cases - balancing short-term revenue, long-term user trust, business value, and execution risks.
- Drive improvements to sponsored results, ad delivery and reporting, creative optimization, and ad load/placement strategy including direct ownership of Ads auction and bidding teams.
- Raise performance and engagement on business pages; enhance how ads and organic results work together on the SERP (with Adaptive SERP and relevance partners).
- Build trusted partnerships with Search Quality, Yelp Assistant, and Ads/ML teams where consumer entry points, monetization, and relevance intersect.
What it takes to succeed:
- Ability to navigate executive stakeholders with strong, sometimes competing opinions, and drive cohesive forward movement.
- You are a thoughtful, strategic product leader. You plan 12-24 months out, mentoring and developing PMs into better product thinkers, and empowering your team to succeed autonomously.
- Proven track record of building and launching innovative ad products or monetization features at scale, within auction-based systems (not just operating existing systems).
- You bring deep, hands-on experience with advertising products — not just familiarity, but the kind of understanding that comes from having lived the trade-offs. You know how auction mechanics affect the consumer experience. You understand why advertiser controls matter and where they create unintended consequences. You've navigated the tension between short-term revenue optimization and long-term user trust, and you have strong instincts about where to draw the line.
- You’re experienced with revenue-generating products backed by clear business metrics, and you actively collaborate with finance and revenue partners.
- You have proven ability to lead large cross-functional initiatives across engineering, design, data science, and go-to-market and communicate effectively at the executive level.
- Familiarity with consumer marketplaces or local discovery and how search UX and ads interact with organic results is strongly preferred.
What you'll get:
- Effective your first day: Full medical, vision, and dental
- 15 days PTO (accrual begins on date of hire and increases with 2+ years of tenure thereafter), 12 paid holidays, plus one floating holiday
- Up to 14 weeks of parental leave
- Monthly wellness subsidy
- Work from home reimbursement
- Flexible spending account
- 401(k) retirement savings plan
- Employee stock purchase plan
- Compensation range for this position is $300,000 - $400,000 annually. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits.

Tips for Your VP Of Sales Job Search
Quantify revenue impact on your resume
Hiring teams for vp of sales roles want to see pipeline numbers, quota attainment percentages, and team size growth. Replace vague phrases like 'grew revenue' with the actual multiplier, time period, and starting baseline so screeners can benchmark your output instantly.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists vp of sales openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Tailor your resume to the sales motion
Boards and founders screen vp of sales candidates differently depending on whether the role is product-led, outbound-heavy, or channel-driven. Read the job description for clues and restructure your experience bullets to mirror the exact motion the company uses.
Target companies at the right growth stage
A vp of sales at a Series A startup builds process from scratch, while the same title at a Series C means managing a large team against a defined playbook. Match your experience to the stage in the posting so you're not filtered out before the first call.
Prepare a 30-60-90 day plan before interviews
Most vp of sales final-round panels include a presentation on how you'd ramp the team and hit the first-year number. Researching the company's current ACV, rep count, and market before the interview lets you make that plan specific rather than generic.
Negotiate the comp structure, not just the base
VP of sales offers usually include a variable component tied to team quota attainment. Ask how quota is set, what the historical attainment rate has been, and whether OTE is capped before you accept, since those details change the real value of the offer.
VP Of Sales Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most vp of saless?
The companies hiring the most vp of saless right now include YMCA, Rippling, and Tyler Technologies, with the largest share of openings in Texas, California, and New York, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Demand is especially active in high-growth SaaS and technology-enabled services companies adding dedicated sales leadership for the first time.
How many vp of sales jobs are remote?
About 55% of vp of sales openings are fully remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the expectation that senior sales leaders can manage distributed teams without a daily office presence. Roles focused on enterprise accounts and channel partnerships tend to offer the most location flexibility, while field-sales-heavy positions typically require proximity to a regional territory.
How do you become a vp of sales?
Most vp of sales careers start in an individual contributor role, move through sales management, and then progress to a director or head of sales position before the VP level. Building a record of consistent quota attainment, demonstrating the ability to hire and develop reps, and taking ownership of forecasting and process design are the steps that distinguish candidates ready for the VP title.
Can you get a vp of sales job without prior VP experience?
Yes, especially at startups and early-stage companies that promote strong directors or heads of sales into the VP role for the first time. The key is framing your experience around team-building, pipeline ownership, and revenue accountability rather than scope of title. Smaller companies often prioritize demonstrated results over a previous VP designation on your resume.
What does the vp of sales interview process look like?
The vp of sales interview process typically starts with a recruiter or hiring manager screen focused on your leadership background and sales philosophy. Later rounds involve the CEO or founders, cross-functional leaders like the head of marketing, and a board member or investor at some companies. Most final rounds include a formal presentation where you walk through how you would assess the current team, set quota, and build toward the annual revenue target.
Where can I find and apply to vp of sales jobs?
