Epic Systems Analyst Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an epic systems analyst in Texas?
The most direct path is completing a bachelor's degree in health informatics, information systems, or a clinical field, then earning Epic certification through your employer's sponsored training program. Texas has no state-issued license for this role, so certification is handled directly through Epic. Large Texas health systems and academic medical centers typically sponsor new analysts through module-specific credentialing, which is the standard credential that makes candidates competitive across the state.
How much do epic systems analysts make in Texas?
Epic systems analysts in Texas earn a median of about $107,390 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $72,530 for the lowest 10% to over $168,140 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire epic systems analysts in Texas?
Employers hiring epic systems analysts in Texas right now include Memorial Hermann Health System, Umc Physicians, and University Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of large integrated health systems and academic medical centers means consistent, year-round demand for analysts across multiple Epic modules.
Which Texas cities have the most epic systems analyst jobs?
Houston, Lubbock, and San Antonio have the most epic systems analyst openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense cluster of major health systems and the Texas Medical Center, while Dallas benefits from large employer headquarters like UT Southwestern and Baylor Scott and White, and Austin's growth in health tech and regional hospital expansion has made it an increasingly active market.
Are there remote epic systems analyst jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most healthcare IT roles. About 43% of epic systems analyst openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based and configuration-heavy nature of the work. Optimization, reporting, and build roles are most commonly offered remotely, while go-live support and new implementation work typically requires on-site presence.
How can I get hired as an epic systems analyst in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to IT support or clinical informatics coordinator roles at large Texas health systems, which often feed into analyst tracks. Institutions like UT Southwestern, Houston Methodist, and Baylor Scott and White run internal training pipelines and occasionally post associate analyst or implementation support roles that do not require prior Epic experience. A background in healthcare administration, medical coding, or clinical work combined with completing an Epic training program at a community college or through a workforce development partner gives candidates a meaningful edge.
Where can I find and apply to epic systems analyst jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to epic systems analyst jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across health systems, consulting firms, and hospital networks. Find roles that fit your experience and module specialization and apply directly.
