Head Of Product Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a head of product in Texas?
The path to head of product in Texas typically starts with several years of individual-contributor product management experience, then a move into a senior PM or group PM role before stepping into leadership. Texas does not require a state-issued license for this role. Most hiring managers in Austin and Dallas expect a background in software or technology businesses, and an MBA from a Texas institution such as UT Austin McCombs or Rice Jones can accelerate the transition into director-level roles.
Which companies hire head of products in Texas?
Employers hiring head of products in Texas right now include Citi, Goldman Sachs, and Henkel, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of enterprise technology firms, health systems, and financial services companies means demand is spread across a wide range of industries rather than clustering in a single sector.
Which Texas cities have the most head of product jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Irving have the most head of product openings in Texas. Austin leads because of its dense startup and enterprise tech ecosystem, Dallas follows on the strength of its fintech, telecom, and corporate headquarters, and Houston adds volume through energy technology and health system product organizations that have been scaling digital teams in recent years.
Are there remote head of product jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 17% of head of product openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on strategy, stakeholder communication, and roadmap work that translates well to distributed teams. The parts of the role most likely to remain fully on-site are those requiring close collaboration with hardware, clinical, or manufacturing teams.
How can I get hired as a head of product in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing an associate or junior product manager role first, then building toward leadership over time. Large Texas employers including Dell, USAA, and Texas Health Resources run associate PM programs and rotational technology tracks that accept candidates from adjacent roles such as business analyst, UX researcher, or technical project manager. Building a portfolio that demonstrates you have shipped a feature or run an experiment, even in a side project or bootcamp context, gives a meaningful edge in Texas's competitive mid-market.
Where can I find and apply to head of product jobs in Texas?
