(Short-Term Consultant): Insurance Verification & Front-End Revenue Cycle

Alamo Premier Mental Health Clinic in San Antonio is seeking a short-term consultant for a 2–4 week project to strengthen our internal insurance verification and benefits process.

Required Experience

• At least three years of direct experience in insurance verification and benefits eligibility
• Front-end revenue cycle operations, including prevention of eligibility- and benefits-related denials
• Payer portals, behavioral-health benefits, and verification documentation
• Staff training and/or workflow development

*****Behavioral-health experience is preferred.******

Scope of Work

• Review the VOB process and documentation currently provided by our billing company; identify gaps and improvement opportunities
• Observe APHMC’s patient intake, scheduling, and verification workflow, including selected real-time VOB issues
• Establish a clear internal verification-of-benefits workflow
• Organize payer logins, portals, and reference resources
• Provide limited on-site coaching during weekday clinic operations
• Conduct virtual staff training and follow-up sessions so both in-office and remote staff can participate
• Provide practical deliverables, including a written workflow/SOP, payer-resource tracker, training materials, and post-training review

Expected Outcome

APHMC will have a sustainable internal VOB process that staff can complete and document consistently, despite staff transitions or future billing-company changes.
