How do you become a director of projects in Texas?
Becoming a director of projects in Texas typically requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field combined with the Project Management Professional credential issued by the Project Management Institute, which Texas employers treat as the de facto professional standard. Most candidates build toward the role through years of progressively senior project management work in Texas industries like energy, construction, or technology, earning the PMP along the way and demonstrating leadership across complex, high-value programs before stepping into a director title.
Which companies hire director of projects in Texas?
Employers hiring director of projectss in Texas right now include Jobot, Omni Hotels, and The University of Texas at Austin, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy companies, major defense contractors, and large regional employers like hospital systems and utilities means consistent year-round demand for senior project leadership talent.
Which Texas cities have the most director of projects jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Austin have the most director of projects openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its deep energy and petrochemical industry base, Dallas drives volume through corporate headquarters and large-scale technology and finance programs, and Austin's rapid growth in tech and infrastructure has made it an increasingly active market for senior project leaders.
