INTRODUCTION
Simulations are transforming due to AI. Handcrafted game-engine simulators are being replaced by neural simulations, involving data-driven scene reconstruction and AI-generated environments. These advances enable testing and training in driving and robotics at levels of fidelity and scale not seen before. NVIDIA's AlpaDreams model and AlpaSim stack are redefining the baseline for next-generation simulation.
We are seeking an engineering leader to productize these outstanding technologies. You will build a team and transform innovative research in neural rendering, simulation, and learning into a durable, modular, production-level platform. This position connects research and production — requiring deep technical expertise to evaluate research and practical skill to deliver a world-class platform. You'll work alongside outstanding research teams and NVIDIA leadership. If turning breakthrough research into something developers rely on every day sounds like the best job you can envision, we'd love to talk!
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish AlpaSim and AlpaDreams as the open-source standard for neural simulation in AV, and scale the team and community to get there.
- Integrate the most recent findings in neural rendering, simulation, and learning into a modular architecture that allows for quick investigation of this field.
- Own product and engineering excellence — performance, scalability, reliability, developer experience, CI/CD, release management.
- Partner with research teams to translate breakthroughs into production-ready platform capabilities.
- Lead the research-to-production pipeline: transform delicate prototypes into reliable tools that developers can rely on.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated record of meaningful achievements in the Graphics, Simulation, Robotics, Machine Learning, or AV fields.
- 12+ overall years experience, 5+ years leading teams.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience turning research-stage systems into dependable, scalable products.
- Strong understanding of ML frameworks, distributed systems, and production infrastructure.
- Results-focused leadership - you build the process, hit the dates, and hold the quality bar.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Direct experience with AV simulation platforms like CARLA, Applied Intuition, dSPACE, or internal OEM tools is a huge plus.
- Experience across the AV ecosystem - OEMs, Tier-1s, startups, research labs - and understanding what they actually need from a simulation platform.
- Previous work on neural rendering, differentiable simulation, or generative world models.
- Experience building developer ecosystems or research communities around open-source projects.
COMPENSATION:
- Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 272,000 USD - 431,250 USD for Level 4, and 320,000 USD - 488,750 USD for Level 5.
- You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
Applications for this job will be accepted at least until May 2, 2026.

Production Engineering Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a production engineering manager in Texas?
Most production engineering managers in Texas start with a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, then build several years of hands-on engineering experience before moving into a supervisory role. Texas does not require a state-issued license specifically for production engineering managers, though holding a Professional Engineer license from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors strengthens candidacy for senior roles in oil and gas and public-sector work. Employers typically promote from within or hire engineers with a record of leading continuous improvement projects.
How much do production engineering managers make in Texas?
Production engineering managers in Texas earn a median of about $171,370 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $120,460 for the lowest 10% to over $277,790 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire production engineering managers in Texas?
Employers hiring production engineering managers in Texas right now include Western States Fire Protection, Jensen Hughes, and NVIDIA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy, semiconductor, and aerospace manufacturers means demand stays consistent across both Houston's industrial corridor and the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Which Texas cities have the most production engineering manager jobs?
Arlington, Austin, and Houston have the most production engineering manager openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense concentration of oil and gas refineries, petrochemical plants, and energy-sector manufacturers, while Dallas-Fort Worth draws volume from semiconductors, defense contractors, and large distribution operations, and San Antonio contributes through aerospace, biomanufacturing, and growing advanced manufacturing investment.
Are there remote production engineering manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Production engineering manager roles are inherently tied to physical plant operations, equipment oversight, and floor-level team management, which limits remote work compared to purely analytical or desk-based fields. About 0% of production engineering manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions tend to cover engineering planning, project coordination, or multi-site oversight functions that can be performed off-site for part of the week.
How can I get hired as a production engineering manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to join a large Texas manufacturer in an associate or junior engineer role and advance into supervisory responsibilities from there. Companies like ExxonMobil, Celanese, and Valero run structured early-career engineering programs in Texas that rotate new graduates through production functions and build the plant-floor credibility employers expect in a manager. Lateral moves from quality engineer, process engineer, or manufacturing engineer roles are common and well-recognized. Earning a Six Sigma Green Belt or pursuing a Professional Engineer license with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors adds measurable credibility when competing for first-time manager positions.
Where can I find and apply to production engineering manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to production engineering manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, and other markets in the state. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly to the ones that match.
