Applications Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a applications manager in Texas?
Applications manager roles in Texas do not require a state-issued license, but employers consistently expect a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or business technology, combined with hands-on platform experience. Most candidates move into the role after several years managing enterprise systems like SAP, Oracle, or Salesforce. Earning a vendor certification such as Salesforce Certified Administrator or a Microsoft Azure credential strengthens a Texas application considerably and is often listed as preferred in job postings.
How much do applications managers make in Texas?
Applications managers in Texas earn a median of about $171,530 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $106,390 for the lowest 10% to over $277,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire applications managers in Texas?
Employers hiring applications managers in Texas right now include Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, Aaa Texas, and Advantest, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, large healthcare systems, and state agency technology programs creates steady, year-round demand for this role.
Which Texas cities have the most applications manager jobs?
Austin, Arlington, and Coppell have the most applications manager openings in Texas. Dallas and Houston drive volume through their dense clusters of financial services firms, energy companies, and large health systems, while Austin's tech sector and rapid growth in enterprise software companies make it a strong and expanding market for applications managers.
Are there remote applications manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many IT roles, because applications managers typically work with systems that are accessible remotely rather than on physical infrastructure. About 44% of applications manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly this work can be performed off-site. Configuration, vendor coordination, and user support functions are the tasks most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a applications manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior systems administrator or application support analyst role, which large Texas employers such as Texas Health Resources, USAA, and major state agencies regularly post as starting points. From there, hands-on work with an ERP or CRM platform builds the experience hiring managers look for. Completing a vendor certification like Salesforce Administrator or Microsoft Dynamics before applying gives candidates with limited work history a concrete, verifiable credential that Texas employers recognize as a genuine substitute for tenure.
Where can I find and apply to applications manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to applications manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from Texas employers. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and location, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
