Strategy Manager Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy manager in New Jersey?
Strategy manager roles in New Jersey do not require a state-issued license or exam, so entry is credential-driven rather than regulated. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, economics, or finance at minimum, with an MBA strongly preferred for mid-to-senior positions. The typical New Jersey path runs through corporate finance, management consulting, or a rotational leadership program at one of the state's large pharmaceutical or financial services employers before stepping into a dedicated strategy role.
Which companies hire strategy managers in New Jersey?
Employers hiring strategy managers in New Jersey right now include Colgate-Palmolive, AbbVie, and JPMorganChase, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New Jersey's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters in sectors like life sciences, financial services, and consumer goods means that many of these openings sit within large corporate strategy or business development teams rather than consulting practices.
Which New Jersey cities have the most strategy manager jobs?
The cities with the most strategy manager openings in New Jersey are Princeton, Jersey City, and Secaucus. Newark and Jersey City draw demand from financial services and professional services firms clustered near the New York metro corridor, while Princeton and its surrounding area in Mercer County are anchored by pharmaceutical and life sciences headquarters that maintain sizable in-house strategy functions.
Are there remote strategy manager jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 73% of strategy manager openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the work. The portions of the role most commonly offered remotely include financial modeling, market research, and slide-deck development, while stakeholder workshops and leadership reviews typically remain on-site.
How can I get hired as a strategy manager in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a structured rotational or leadership development program at one of New Jersey's large employers, where candidates without direct strategy experience come in through finance, operations, or business analysis tracks before rotating into a strategy function. Johnson & Johnson, Prudential Financial, and similarly sized New Jersey anchors run formal early-career programs that feed into corporate strategy teams. Building a concise portfolio of case studies or an MBA, even part-time through a New Jersey institution, meaningfully accelerates the move into a named strategy role.
Where can I find and apply to strategy manager jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to strategy manager jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers active in the state. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
