Preferred Background
- Experience in business development, partnerships, consumer products, retail, startups, wellness, food, or e-commerce is a plus.

Strategy Manager Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy manager in California?
Strategy manager roles in California do not require a state-issued license, so entry is credential-driven rather than regulatory. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a quantitative field, and many California technology and entertainment companies give preference to candidates with an MBA from an accredited program. Prior experience in management consulting, investment banking, or a high-growth California startup accelerates hiring significantly.
Which companies hire strategy managers in California?
Employers hiring strategy managers in California right now include TikTok, Meta, and Adobe, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. California's concentration of technology headquarters, major healthcare systems, and media conglomerates means strategy manager demand is unusually broad across industries compared with most other states.
Which California cities have the most strategy manager jobs?
San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Jose account for the largest share of strategy manager openings in California. San Francisco draws postings from technology and venture-backed companies, Los Angeles from entertainment, media, and aerospace firms, and San Diego from biotech and defense contractors, which together explain why the distribution clusters around those three metros rather than spreading evenly across the state.
Are there remote strategy manager jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 60% of strategy manager openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how heavily the work centers on analysis, presentations, and virtual stakeholder meetings. The parts of the role most likely to stay fully remote are competitive research, financial modeling, and deck preparation, while roles that require regular executive face time tend to require at least a hybrid schedule.
How can I get hired as a strategy manager in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a business analyst or associate rotational program at a large California employer. Companies like Google, Kaiser Permanente, and Wells Fargo run structured associate programs that move analysts through strategy, operations, and finance rotations. Candidates coming from consulting, investment banking, or a California MBA program with a strong internship are competitive for associate strategy roles that lead directly into the manager track.
Where can I find and apply to strategy manager jobs in California?
You can find and apply to strategy manager jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings. Search the available roles, identify the ones that fit your background and target industry, and apply directly to each posting.
