Job Overview
We're building a next-generation insurance platform that doesn't just sell leads, but gives consumers real, bindable rates. We're looking for a hands-on leader who can own this rated journey end-to-end. You'll drive carrier partnerships, manage performance of our rate displays, and optimize yield between rated flows and traditional leads/calls. Essentially, you'll run a mini business within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own carrier and agency relationships to onboard and maintain rate partnerships.
- Oversee performance: Track how rates convert and price them accordingly.
- Collaborate with media, product, and account teams to balance rate displays with lead/call monetization.
- Work on yield optimization—developing algorithms to maximize profit across different flows.
- Test and scale new media sources into the rated experience funnel.
Who You Are:
- You've got experience in insurance distribution—ideally a mix of digital lead/call models and rated experiences.
- You think like a GM: You love owning a P&L, building partnerships, and optimizing margins.
- You're comfortable working cross-functionally—whether it's biz dev, product, or media.
- You have a knack for turning data into action—whether that's in pricing, customer journey, or yield.
If you're ready to build something new—while leveraging what works—join us at POND.

Insurance Product Management Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a insurance product management in California?
Most insurance product managers in California enter through a bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or actuarial science, then build experience inside a carrier, insurtech, or brokerage before moving into a dedicated product role. California does not require a state-issued license to hold a product management title, but many employers expect candidates to hold or obtain a California Department of Insurance producer license if the role involves product filings. A Certified Insurance Service Representative or CPCU designation strengthens candidacy considerably.
Which companies hire insurance product managements in California?
Employers hiring insurance product managements in California right now include Government Employees Insurance Company (Geico), Mercury Insurance Company, and Mercury Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's dense concentration of both legacy carriers and venture-backed insurtech companies means openings appear across a wider range of company sizes and product lines than most other states.
Which California cities have the most insurance product management jobs?
Palo Alto, Brea, and Foster City consistently post the most insurance product management openings in California. Los Angeles draws the largest volume thanks to its concentration of regional carrier headquarters and insurtech startups, San Francisco's fintech and insurtech ecosystem drives strong demand for digitally focused product managers, and San Diego's growing health insurance and specialty lines sector adds a steady stream of openings.
Are there remote insurance product management jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 67% of insurance product management openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based and cross-functional coordination nature of the role. Strategy, roadmap planning, and stakeholder management work translates well to remote arrangements, while roles involving California Department of Insurance product filings or actuarial collaboration sometimes require occasional in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a insurance product management in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a business analyst or associate underwriter role at a California carrier, where exposure to product filings, pricing decisions, and regulatory workflows builds the foundation employers look for. Large California-based insurers such as Farmers and Anthem run structured rotational or associate programs that move analytically strong candidates into product-adjacent seats. Earning a California Department of Insurance producer license early and building a portfolio of product requirement documents or competitive analysis work signals readiness for a full product management title.
Where can I find and apply to insurance product management jobs in California?
You can find and apply to insurance product management jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings across carriers, insurtechs, and specialty lines companies. Find the roles that fit your experience and apply directly.
