Full-Time
Location: Hybrid, will need to go in to our San Fernando, Los Angeles and South Bay office a couple times a week
You give so much of yourself to your work—and here at Thrive Pet Healthcare, we recognize the impact you make every day. Across our Home Office teams, you’ll partner closely with leaders and colleagues nationwide to shape the future of veterinary care. And you’ll do it with the support, tools, and community you need to thrive.
As part of a network of 350+ hospitals and a growing corporate team, you’ll be appreciated for who you are, the expertise you bring, and the impact you make across our organization.
Who We Are
Thrive Pet Healthcare is a community of 350 hospitals nationwide united by our mission to bring quality, empathetic veterinary care to pets and their families. Our Home Office teams power that mission by supporting our hospitals through operational excellence, innovative programs, people-centered culture, and forward-thinking business solutions — all while having plenty of fun along the way.
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and dynamic social media and graphic design specialist to join our team as a Content Creator. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for visual storytelling, a strong understanding of branding, a pulse on digital design trends — and a genuine love for animals.
In this role, you will create compelling videos and static content across digital, print, and social platforms, primarily supporting three major veterinary specialty and ER hospitals in the Los Angeles area. You will collaborate closely with hospital leadership, operations, veterinary relations, marketing, brand, communications, public relations, and digital teams to develop and execute content that supports strategic growth initiatives.
Make an Impact as an ACCESS Content Creator
We’re looking for a Content Creator for our ACCESS Hospitals to join the Thrive Pet Healthcare Home Office team.
In this role, you’ll play a meaningful part in advancing our organization’s priorities and supporting our hospital teams. Your expertise will help improve processes, elevate the employee and client experience, and strengthen the operational foundation of a growing, nationwide veterinary network.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with Veterinary Relations Managers (VRMs) and Specialty/ER hospital leadership to align content with local growth strategies and service line priorities.
- Develop and execute location-specific marketing content, including e-blasts (CE programs, rDVM communications via SmarterSends), social media, and digital promotions.
- Own social media planning, publishing, and performance tracking; analyze engagement metrics and optimize content accordingly.
- Capture and produce photography and video showcasing hospital expertise, culture, and specialty services.
- Design and deliver graphics, videos, and layouts for digital and print materials in alignment with brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with centralized marketing teams to support cohesive, multi-channel campaigns when time allows.
- Maintain brand consistency across all assets and prepare final files for production, as needed.
- Manage a SharePoint-based digital asset management (DAM) system for scalable content organization.
- Stay current on industry trends, tools, and best practices – especially social media trends.
- Develop trust with field stakeholders such as practice managers, medical directors, and vet relations representatives at the hospitals, and operations managers, directors, and VPs that support hospital operations.
- Coach operations partners and hospitals’ leadership on marketing programs, strategies, and tactics that are appropriate for the hospitals’ goals.
- Foster a sense of belonging and collaboration among the hospitals in the region.
- Support hospitals’ leadership with empathy and with a solution-oriented approach.
- This role plays a key coordination function across three ACCESS locations, supporting B2B and B2C stakeholders, internal physicians and hospital leadership, and the needs of the support office.
- Partner with operations and hospital leadership to assess needs, capacity, and growth opportunities, translating insights into targeted marketing support and execution.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing teams to brainstorm new programs, develop localized tactics, and lead hospital-specific initiatives from concept through execution.

Content Specialist Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a content specialist in California?
Content specialist roles in California do not require a state-issued license, so the path centers on education and a strong portfolio. Most California employers expect at least a bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, or marketing. Building published writing samples, contributing to brand blogs or digital publications, and gaining proficiency in SEO and content management systems are the steps that make candidates competitive in California's tech and media-heavy market.
Which companies hire content specialists in California?
Employers hiring content specialists in California right now include BKF Engineers, Esri, and Apple, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's concentration of technology firms, entertainment studios, and health systems means demand for content specialists is spread across a wider range of industries than most other states.
Which California cities have the most content specialist jobs?
Los Angeles, Irvine, and San Francisco have the most content specialist openings in California. Los Angeles leads because of its dense entertainment, media, and e-commerce sectors, while San Francisco and the broader Bay Area draw demand from technology headquarters and SaaS companies, and San Diego's biotech and defense industries create steady openings for technical and health content specialists.
Are there remote content specialist jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 24% of content specialist openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how thoroughly desk-based the role is by nature. Content strategy, SEO writing, and editorial work are the sub-areas most consistently offered with remote flexibility by California employers.
How can I get hired as a content specialist in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is building a published portfolio before applying, even if that means writing for a campus publication, a nonprofit, or a personal site. California technology companies and health systems such as those in the Bay Area and Los Angeles regularly hire content coordinators and junior content associates as entry points. Moving laterally from a social media coordinator or marketing assistant role at a California brand is another common door, and candidates who add a Google Analytics or HubSpot content certification stand out in early screening.
Where can I find and apply to content specialist jobs in California?
You can find and apply to content specialist jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
