Overview
When Alfred Fain founded a small Rhode Island tire store in 1924, at the time no one could have predicted how Teknor Apex would become an international custom compounder sought out by companies around the world. After a nearly hundred-year journey that’s carried us through acquisitions and expansion, we now have nine U.S. locations, as well as operations in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China.
Throughout this global expansion Teknor has remained a privately held company, and today Fain’s grandson sits at the helm, maintaining the family’s tradition of fostering deep employee and customer relationships. These relationships are what allow us—together—to deliver customized compound solutions and help our customer’s create better products.
“Manufacturing is a team sport and we work together to achieve our goals.” ~Jon Fain

Senior Level Equipment Operator Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level equipment operator job?
Employers at this level want operators who can run complex equipment without supervision, identify mechanical issues before they become failures, and guide less experienced crew members on the job. Certifications specific to your equipment class, a clean safety record, and demonstrated experience leading site operations or coordinating with project managers will set you apart from other applicants.
Which companies hire senior level equipment operators?
Companies hiring senior level equipment operators right now include North Wind, Teknor Apex Company, and JT4, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes primarily from large construction firms, infrastructure contractors, mining operations, and heavy industrial employers that run continuous or large-scale equipment fleets.
What makes an equipment operator role senior level?
Senior level roles involve operating heavy or specialized machinery in high-stakes environments, taking ownership of safety protocols, and often mentoring or directing other operators on site. These positions require deep familiarity with multiple equipment types, the ability to troubleshoot under pressure, and accountability for project timelines or production targets that go well beyond the duties of a mid-level operator.
Which industries hire the most senior level equipment operators?
Senior level equipment operator roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Construction & Real Estate, and Aerospace & Defense, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive demand because they rely on continuous, large-scale operations where experienced operators who can maintain output, enforce safety standards, and reduce downtime are essential to project success.
