Senior Level Operations Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level operations manager job?
Employers at this level look for candidates who have led large-scale operational initiatives, not just participated in them. Demonstrating ownership over outcomes, such as process improvements that reduced cost or improved throughput, sets strong candidates apart. Experience managing cross-functional teams, presenting to executive stakeholders, and building systems that scale tends to be the deciding factor over credentials alone.
Which companies hire senior level operations managers?
Companies hiring senior level operations managers right now include Amazon, Intuit, and ABB, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from organizations large enough to have dedicated operations functions, including enterprise corporations, regional healthcare networks, logistics providers, and scaling technology companies.
Are there remote senior level operations manager jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by industry and company size. About 6% of senior level operations manager openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the growing acceptance of distributed leadership for experienced professionals. Fully remote roles are more common in technology and professional services than in manufacturing or healthcare operations.
What makes an operations manager role senior level?
Senior level operations manager roles are defined by ownership over outcomes rather than execution of assigned tasks. Candidates are expected to set operational strategy, manage managers or leads, drive cross-department initiatives, and make decisions with significant business impact. Mentoring junior and mid-level staff, influencing organizational structure, and accountability for department-wide performance metrics distinguish these roles from mid-level positions.
Which industries hire the most senior level operations managers?
Senior level operations manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Manufacturing, and Electronics & Hardware, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. These sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because they operate at a scale that requires experienced leaders to manage complex logistics, compliance requirements, and high-volume service delivery across multiple functions or locations.
