How do I get an entry level family practice nurse practitioner job?
Focus on clinical rotations, preceptorships, and any supervised family medicine experience you completed during your nurse practitioner program, since entry level employers weigh hands-on patient contact heavily at this stage. Highlight your ability to manage a broad patient panel across age groups, demonstrate familiarity with electronic health records, and consider applying to federally qualified health centers or rural practices, which tend to be more open to new graduates.

At this level, hiring tends to come from primary care group practices, community health clinics, urgent care chains, and health systems with structured new-graduate onboarding programs.
Are there remote entry level family practice nurse practitioner jobs?
Yes, though most family practice nurse practitioner roles require in-person patient care, a meaningful share do include telehealth components. About 0% of entry level family practice nurse practitioner openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with telehealth-heavy positions most common at direct primary care practices and virtual urgent care platforms that welcome newer clinicians.
Are these new grad family practice nurse practitioner jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior family practice nurse practitioner roles alongside other entry level postings. A new-grad-friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts clinical rotation or preceptorship hours in place of independent practice time, and may offer a structured orientation or mentorship period to support clinicians stepping into their first independent role.
