The Davenport Community School District is an EEO/AA employer.
Start Date: 2026-27 School Year
Position Details:
- Compensation: $18.70 minimum (dependent on education and experience)
- Assignment is to work 195 days including all instructional days, designated professional development days, and additional dates before/after the school year. Final calendar is pending and will be made available prior to acceptance of the role.
- Hours are generally during school hours. There will be occasional outside of school day hours such as conferences, open house, family communications, etc.
- Attendance and engagement at all designated professional development for the role is required.
Duties & Responsibilities:

- Major Function #1 - Actively Serving Families:
- Serves as a liaison connecting families to school and community resources
- Active participant in building-driven initiatives and events including regular family communication and support at typical district events: open house, conferences, kindergarten round up, and fun night.
- Responsive to families in need of immediate support related to food insecurity, housing, mental health services and any other related need

Major Function #2 - Collaborative Work:
- Actively promote and be an active team member within the multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) in the area of social-emotional, behavioral health (SEBH)
- Strong knowledge and understanding of local agencies and providers that can assist families with various needs in conjunction with other building or district staff and will make appropriate agency referrals to families in need
- Participating in building, regional, and district collaborations as required to advocate for family needs

Attends and is highly engaged in all required professional development as specified by the district

Major Function #3 - Data Driven Decisions:
- Maintains updated calendar and daily required records of work and other data points needed.
- Uses data to prioritize work, monitor growth towards goals, and advocate for families.
- Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs. such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture.
- Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
- Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.

- Successful Candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential
- Relevant Human Services BA Degree obtained, in progress, or 5+ years relevant experience preferred
- Strong communication skills through various methods
- Integrity with confidential student and family information
- Skilled with gathering and using data to make informed decisions
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively
- Reflective and receptive of feedback and learning for professional growth
- Takes initiative and responsibility for individual and team work
