Field Operations Manager Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a field operations manager job in Washington?
Target Washington's dominant hiring sectors: federal contractors, government services firms, utilities, and facilities management companies that support the area's dense concentration of agencies and institutions. Roles cluster in NoMa, Capitol Hill, and the Navy Yard corridor. Candidates who can demonstrate experience managing multi-site teams, navigating government contract environments, or holding a security clearance stand out in this market above all others.
Which companies hire field operations managers in Washington?
Companies currently hiring field operations managers in Washington include CAVA, AGE Solutions, and M.C. Dean, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Washington's employer mix skews heavily toward government contractors, defense and intelligence services firms, utilities, and large facility management companies servicing federal and institutional clients.
Are there remote field operations manager jobs in Washington?
Yes, but only partially. Field operations management is inherently site-dependent, so fully remote roles are uncommon. About 62% of field operations manager openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, typically covering planning, reporting, and coordination duties. In Washington, hybrid arrangements are most common at larger contractors where administrative oversight can be done off-site while site visits remain required.
How can I get a field operations manager job in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Washington is through operations coordinator or field supervisor roles at government contractors, facilities management firms, or utilities serving the District. Washington's large federal contractor ecosystem regularly hires entry-level operations staff for multi-year contract projects. Starting in logistics coordination, site support, or project administration at firms holding GSA or agency contracts builds the credentials that lead directly to a field operations manager title.
Which industries hire the most field operations managers in Washington?
Washington field operations manager roles concentrate in Science & Research, Consulting & Professional Services, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Washington's role as the seat of federal government creates sustained demand from contractors, defense services firms, and infrastructure providers that operate and maintain facilities supporting government agencies throughout the District.
