Who's Hiring

Field Operations Supervisor Jobs in Providence: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a field operations supervisor job in Providence?
Target Providence's strongest hiring sectors: utilities infrastructure along the Providence River corridor, construction and facilities services tied to ongoing Downcity redevelopment, and logistics operations near the Port of Providence and I-95 freight routes. Candidates who combine direct team leadership experience with familiarity with Rhode Island's unionized trades environment stand out. OSHA certifications and a background in municipal or utility work give you a clear edge in this market.
Which companies hire field operations supervisors in Providence?
Employers hiring field operations supervisors in Providence right now include Gilbane, Roche, and Ampelmann, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Providence's mix of public utilities, regional construction contractors, and port-adjacent logistics firms makes it a consistent market for this role year-round.
Are there remote field operations supervisor jobs in Providence?
Yes, though most field operations supervisor roles are inherently on-site given the hands-on crew oversight and site inspection requirements. About 0% of field operations supervisor openings tied to Providence are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with remote flexibility most common in scheduling, compliance reporting, and vendor coordination functions rather than direct field work.
How can I get a field operations supervisor job in Providence with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Providence is moving up from a field technician, crew lead, or operations coordinator role with one of the city's utility providers, facilities management firms, or construction contractors working on Downcity or South Side projects. Many Providence employers promote from within when candidates demonstrate crew coordination skills and site safety knowledge. Pursuing OSHA 30 certification and volunteering for lead responsibilities in your current position significantly improves your prospects locally.
