Field Operations Specialist Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field operations specialist in Rhode Island?
Most field operations specialist roles in Rhode Island require a bachelor's degree in operations, logistics, business, or engineering alongside direct field experience in a relevant industry. Rhode Island does not issue a single statewide license specific to this title, but roles tied to utilities or construction may require coordination with the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training for regulated site work. Candidates who build experience managing field crews, logistics workflows, or infrastructure projects in Rhode Island's healthcare, defense, or municipal sectors move into specialist roles most readily.
Which companies hire field operations specialists in Rhode Island?
Companies currently hiring field operations specialists in Rhode Island include Gilbane, StrongHouse, and ConcertoCare, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's mix of large health systems, defense contractors based in the Providence metro, and regional utilities means field operations openings appear across both private-sector and institutional employers with long-standing operations in the state.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most field operations specialist jobs?
Providence, Warwick, and Cranston account for the largest share of field operations specialist openings in Rhode Island. Providence drives the highest volume as the state's commercial, healthcare, and government hub, while Warwick and Cranston benefit from proximity to T.F. Green Airport, Textron's facilities, and a dense cluster of regional utilities and logistics operations that consistently need field coordination staff.
Are there remote field operations specialist jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, but they're rare. Field operations specialist roles are inherently site-based, requiring on-the-ground coordination of crews, equipment, and physical assets across Rhode Island locations. About 36% of field operations specialist openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to involve the scheduling, reporting, and data analysis components of the role rather than direct field supervision.
How can I get hired as a field operations specialist in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing an operations coordinator, field technician, or logistics associate role at one of Rhode Island's large institutional employers such as Lifespan, National Grid, or a Textron subsidiary, which regularly hire people without specialist-level experience. Rhode Island Community College and the University of Rhode Island both offer operations and supply chain programs that strengthen an entry-level application. Building familiarity with work order systems, earning an OSHA 10 certification, and moving laterally from a field technician or dispatch coordinator role are the credentials and moves that most consistently open doors.
Where can I find and apply to field operations specialist jobs in Rhode Island?
You can find and apply to field operations specialist jobs in Rhode Island on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings to see roles that match your experience level, preferred location within Rhode Island, and industry focus, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
