Rhode Island does not require a state-issued license for general operations managers. Employers across Providence-area healthcare systems and manufacturing companies typically hire candidates who combine formal education with supervisory experience in supply chain, logistics, or facility operations.
How much do operations managers make in Rhode Island?
Operations managers in Rhode Island earn a median of about $117,380 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $64,990 for the lowest 10% to over $243,520 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire operations managers in Rhode Island?
Companies currently hiring operations managers in Rhode Island include CVS Health, Walgreens, and Sodexo, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of large healthcare networks, insurance carriers, and consumer goods manufacturers means openings are distributed across both the greater Providence area and suburban industrial corridors in Warwick and Cranston.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most operations manager jobs?
Providence, Warwick, and Pawtucket lead Rhode Island for operations manager openings. Providence anchors most hiring because of its dense cluster of hospital systems, financial services firms, and corporate headquarters, while Warwick and Cranston draw demand from manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and regional offices that rely on on-site operations leadership.
Are there remote operations manager jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, but they're relatively rare. Operations management often requires on-site presence to oversee facilities, staff, and processes directly. About 24% of operations manager openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with most of those in insurance, financial services, and technology operations where oversight can be performed off-site.
How can I get hired as a operations manager in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an operations coordinator or team lead role at one of Rhode Island's large healthcare networks or manufacturing employers, such as Lifespan or a Providence-area distribution center. Lateral moves from adjacent roles in logistics coordination, facilities supervision, or project coordination are common stepping stones.
