Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Operations Manager.
In this role, the successful candidate The Operations Manager of Building Services is responsible for the overall efficiency and operation of the department. They are responsible for the effectiveness of the following sub-departments within building services: Housekeeping/Environmental Services, Messenger/transport, Linen, Television Services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Core Values and incorporates them (as a guiding force) into the performance of department. Provides leadership to all levels of management.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Service/quality attitude, be able to plan, organize, and achieve effective time management, and work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives. Have good public speaking skills.
- Develops high, wide and deep relations with all other departments within the medical center. Responsible for total representation of the EVS/BSD Department Interacts with other departments to ensure the EVS/BSD Department services are effective and efficient.
- Plans, organizes, develops and leads the overall departmental (EVS/BSD, linen, television, and messenger/transport services) operations in accordance with federal, state, local laws standards, guidelines and regulations. Partners with leadership team to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements & promotion of Risk Management programs & policies; monitors adherence to safety rules & regulations.
- Ability to finalize policies and procedures for the department as needed.
- Ability to conduct hiring interviews.
- Must be able to control expenses within area of responsibility.
- Submits finalized financial (budgets), staffing, and performance assessment reports. Reports on resulting data trends, strengths and weakness. Formulate plans for performance, oversees the efficiency of implemented performance plans, and adjusts as needed.
- Responsible for overseeing the employee training and education program. Approves monthly in-service topics. Provides additional in-service topics as needed or as policies or procedures change.
- Represents the department in all senior leadership meetings. To include, Labor Productivity, Environment of Care Committee, and other committees as assigned.
- Responsible for the final decision making for all departmental policies and procedures.
- Manages labor relations. Interfaces with union leadership through Performance Improvement Teams and other forums to ensure a soiled and proactive relationship exists. Ensures morale and efficiencies in the labor force.
- Ability to direct a substantial work force (both management and union).
- Creates a team capable of providing world class customer service. Leads, trains, and instills this philosophy.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in Management or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree preferred.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Receive Offer
If you successfully complete the interview process and are identified as a finalist for the position, we will require that you complete a professional reference process. After evaluating the completed references, a decision will be made on who will receive a preliminary offer. If you receive a preliminary offer, HR will start the onboarding process with an agreed-upon tentative start date.
Step 4
Training & Orientation
You will be contacted by an onboarding specialist who will work with you on your pre-boarding requirements. Once fully cleared, we will ask you to complete compliance orientation regulatory training. On your first day, you will attend an online required orientation to acclimate to the health system and report to your new department based on instructions provided by your hiring manager.
