Operations Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operations manager in Florida?
Most operations manager roles in Florida require a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field, though many employers accept equivalent experience. There is no state-issued license specific to the title itself, but roles in construction operations often require familiarity with Florida Building Code compliance, and healthcare operations managers at licensed facilities must understand Florida Agency for Health Care Administration regulations. Earning credentials such as the Certified Operations Manager designation strengthens candidacy in Florida's competitive market.
How much do operations managers make in Florida?
Operations managers in Florida earn a median of about $101,580 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $48,670 for the lowest 10% to over $226,080 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire operations managers in Florida?
Employers hiring operations managers in Florida right now include Walgreens, CVS Health, and Heartland Dental, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's mix of large hospitality groups, regional hospital systems, and major distribution hubs means hiring is spread across industries rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Florida cities have the most operations manager jobs?
Miami, Jacksonville, and Tampa have the most operations manager openings in Florida. Miami's role as a logistics and trade gateway, Tampa's growing corporate and healthcare base, and Orlando's large hospitality and theme park industry all generate steady demand for operations talent, while smaller metros benefit from the presence of large regional distribution centers and healthcare networks.
Are there remote operations manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're relatively uncommon, since most operations manager work involves overseeing physical locations, teams, or logistics in person. About 30% of operations manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those that do offer flexibility tend to be corporate or regional oversight roles focused on reporting, vendor coordination, and process improvement rather than day-to-day floor management.
How can I get hired as a operations manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an assistant operations manager or shift supervisor role at a large Florida employer such as a major hotel group, regional grocery chain, or healthcare system, which regularly hire candidates without full management experience. Lateral moves from roles like logistics coordinator, team lead, or department supervisor build the operational background Florida employers look for. Completing a certificate in operations or supply chain management and gaining familiarity with Florida workplace safety requirements through an OSHA ten-hour course gives candidates a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to operations manager jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to operations manager jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to the ones that match.
