Operations Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operations manager in Texas?
Most operations manager roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, industrial management, or a related field, though candidates with substantial frontline leadership experience are regularly considered. Texas does not require a state-issued license to work as an operations manager, but employers in regulated industries such as healthcare or environmental services may expect relevant certifications. Credentials like a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or PMP strengthen candidacy significantly across Texas's manufacturing, logistics, and energy sectors.
How much do operations managers make in Texas?
Operations managers in Texas earn a median of about $103,230 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,190 for the lowest 10% to over $264,620 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire operations managers in Texas?
Employers hiring operations managers in Texas right now include AutoZone, Finish Line, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's scale across energy, distribution, and retail means large employers with statewide footprints post consistently throughout the year, not just during peak hiring seasons.
Which Texas cities have the most operations manager jobs?
Austin, Houston, and Dallas have the most operations manager openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its energy, petrochemical, and port logistics industries, Dallas-Fort Worth draws volume from its concentration of corporate headquarters and distribution centers, and San Antonio's growing manufacturing base and large healthcare systems like University Health generate steady demand as well.
Are there remote operations manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Operations management is an inherently on-site discipline for most employers, as the role typically involves overseeing facilities, staff, and physical workflows. About 9% of operations manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions tend to sit in functions like vendor coordination, process design, or multi-site oversight where daily floor presence is not required.
How can I get hired as a operations manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an operations coordinator, shift supervisor, or assistant manager role at a Texas employer with a structured internal promotion track. Large Texas operators like H-E-B, Amazon fulfillment centers, and major hospital systems such as HCA Houston Healthcare regularly hire for team lead and coordinator positions that feed into operations management. A Lean Six Sigma White or Yellow Belt, even self-studied, signals process-improvement awareness that Texas hiring managers notice early in a candidate's career.
Where can I find and apply to operations manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to operations manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries including logistics, energy, healthcare, and manufacturing. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly to the employers posting them.
