Business Manager – Accounting & Operations
Location: Dallas–Fort Worth Area | On-Site
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary Range: $80,000–$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Manager – Accounting & Operations to oversee key financial and business functions for a multimillion-dollar organization. This position will work closely with executive leadership and serve as a trusted point of contact for investors/shareholders, banking partners, customers, vendors, and the company’s accounting team.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting or managing the financial and operational needs of a multimillion-dollar business and possess a strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow, banking, and general accounting principles.
Our accounting team handles much of the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions. This position will provide the management, review, and U.S.-based execution layer above those activities, including reviewing financial reports, monitoring cash flow, handling banking transactions and wire transfers, coordinating payments, and ensuring leadership has accurate and timely financial information.
This is not a traditional Controller or technical accounting position. We are seeking a well-rounded business professional who understands the financial side of running a business while also being comfortable managing relationships and broader business operations.
Key Responsibilities Business & Financial Management
- Maintain an understanding of the company’s overall financial position, including revenue, expenses, cash flow, accounts payable, and upcoming financial obligations.
- Review financial statements, cash flow reports, bank reports, and other financial information prepared by the accounting team.
- Identify discrepancies, unusual activity, or items requiring additional review and coordinate with the accounting team to resolve them.
- Monitor cash flow and account balances and assist leadership with planning and prioritizing financial obligations.
- Assist executive leadership with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and business decision-making.
- Prepare and coordinate financial and business information requested by leadership, investors, banks, lenders, and other business partners.
Banking & Cash Management
- Manage day-to-day banking activities and relationships.
- Monitor company bank accounts and cash availability.
- Initiate and execute approved transfers between company accounts.
- Initiate and release wire transfers and ACH transactions in accordance with established approval procedures and internal controls.
- Maintain appropriate bank account access, user permissions, and administrative settings.
- Assist with opening and maintaining bank accounts.
- Review and respond to bank and lender reports, correspondence, documentation requests, and other financial matters.
- Assist with lines of credit, financing arrangements, and other banking needs.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and controls related to the movement of company funds.
Investor, Customer & Vendor Relations
- Communicate professionally with investors and shareholders regarding appropriate financial and business matters.
- Coordinate investor/shareholder correspondence, reports, information requests, and K-1-related matters.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, banking partners, and other outside parties.
- Assist with significant customer or vendor matters involving payments, billing, contracts, or other business issues.
- Communicate with vendors regarding payments, account matters, contracts, and services.
- Review vendor relationships and expenses and identify opportunities for improved efficiency or cost savings.
- Represent the company professionally in external business communications and relationships.
Business Operations
- Work closely with executive leadership to ensure financial and administrative processes support company goals.
- Develop and improve business processes, procedures, and internal controls.
- Coordinate across departments to resolve financial and operational issues.
- Assist with contracts, renewals, insurance matters, and other business-related administrative needs.
- Maintain organized financial, banking, investor, vendor, and business records.
- Handle highly confidential financial and company information with discretion.
- Take ownership of special projects and other business-management responsibilities as assigned by executive leadership.
Qualifications Required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in business management, financial operations, finance, accounting management, or a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience working with the financial and operational needs of a multimillion-dollar business.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow.
- Hands-on experience with business banking, cash management, wire transfers, ACH transactions, and transfers between accounts.
- Ability to review financial information and recognize discrepancies or areas requiring further review.
- Experience communicating professionally with executives, business owners, investors/shareholders, customers, vendors, banks, or other business partners.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, judgment, and integrity.
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
- Previous experience in a Business Manager, Finance & Operations Manager, Business Operations Manager, Accounting Manager, or similar role.
- Experience communicating directly with investors or shareholders.
- Experience overseeing or coordinating with a remote or offshore accounting team.
- Experience working with banks, lenders, lines of credit, or business financing.
- Experience working in a privately held or owner-operated business environment.

The ideal candidate is a business-minded professional with strong financial knowledge who is comfortable taking ownership of important financial and operational responsibilities.
This individual should be able to review financial reports and recognize when something requires further investigation, discuss cash flow and financial needs with leadership, handle banking transactions and wire transfers, communicate confidently with investors and business partners, resolve customer or vendor issues, and effectively coordinate with the accounting team.
We are looking for someone who is financially knowledgeable, organized, proactive, trustworthy, and comfortable working closely with executive leadership.
Compensation: $80,000–$100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
