Assistant Operations Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a assistant operations manager in Texas?
Most assistant operations manager roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in business, operations, supply chain, or a related field, though employers in manufacturing and logistics sometimes accept an associate degree paired with meaningful floor experience. Texas does not require a state-issued license for this role, but earning a Certified Associate in Project Management credential or a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt strengthens applications significantly. Larger Texas employers in healthcare or regulated industries may also expect familiarity with OSHA compliance standards specific to Texas worksites.
How much do assistant operations managers make in Texas?
Assistant operations managers in Texas earn a median of about $103,230 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,190 for the lowest 10% to over $264,620 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire assistant operations managers in Texas?
Employers hiring assistant operations managers in Texas right now include Finish Line, Sally Beauty, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of large distribution centers, healthcare networks, and corporate headquarters means hiring is consistent year-round rather than purely seasonal.
Which Texas cities have the most assistant operations manager jobs?
Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas have the most assistant operations manager openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its energy sector, port logistics, and sprawling healthcare systems, while Dallas draws volume from corporate headquarters, e-commerce fulfillment hubs, and financial services operations, and San Antonio benefits from a strong military-adjacent logistics sector and growing manufacturing base.
Are there remote assistant operations manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Because the role typically involves overseeing physical facilities, staff on the floor, and real-time inventory or workflow decisions, most assistant operations manager positions require an on-site or hybrid presence. About 1% of assistant operations manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those that do allow remote work tend to concentrate the off-site portion in scheduling, reporting, and vendor coordination tasks.
How can I get hired as a assistant operations manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into the role from an operations coordinator, shift supervisor, or team-lead position at a large Texas employer. Companies like H-E-B, Amazon, and Texas Health Resources run structured internal development programs that advance high-performing frontline employees into assistant management roles. Earning a Lean Six Sigma White or Yellow Belt credential before applying signals readiness for the analytical side of the job. A portfolio showing a process improvement you led, even informally, gives candidates a concrete edge in Texas interviews.
Where can I find and apply to assistant operations manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to assistant operations manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries and cities. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly to the employers posting them.
