Operations Director Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operations director in Texas?
Most operations directors in Texas move into the role through a combination of a business or engineering degree and progressive management experience in a relevant sector. Texas does not require a state-issued license specific to operations director roles, but industries like healthcare and energy have their own compliance requirements that employers expect candidates to know. Earning credentials such as a Certified Operations Manager designation or a PMP from the Project Management Institute strengthens a Texas candidacy considerably.
Which companies hire operations directors in Texas?
Employers hiring operations directors in Texas right now include Aramark, Chick-fil-A Restaurants, and Oracle, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of energy, healthcare, and logistics headquarters means a wide range of large employers maintain ongoing demand for this role across multiple functional areas.
Which Texas cities have the most operations director jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Austin have the most operations director openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense concentration of energy, petrochemical, and logistics companies, Dallas draws heavily from corporate headquarters in finance, retail, and technology, and Austin's rapid growth in tech and healthcare has made it a consistent source of senior operations roles.
Are there remote operations director jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely analytical roles because operations directors typically need to be present to manage facilities, teams, and vendor relationships. About 38% of operations director openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with most of those arrangements concentrated in technology, software, and corporate shared-services environments where the operational work is more process-oriented than site-dependent.
How can I get hired as a operations director in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is to secure an operations manager or senior operations analyst role at a large Texas employer and build from there. Companies like HCA Healthcare, Amazon's Texas fulfillment network, and major energy firms regularly hire operations coordinators and associate managers into structured development tracks. A PMP certification or a lean Six Sigma green belt credential meaningfully accelerates that progression and signals readiness for director-level responsibility to Texas hiring teams.
Where can I find and apply to operations director jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to operations director jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
