Assistant Operations Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a assistant operations manager in New York?
Most assistant operations manager roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related field, though large employers in sectors like healthcare and logistics increasingly accept equivalent experience. There is no state-issued license specific to the role, but New York employers in regulated industries may require familiarity with state labor laws, OSHA compliance standards, or industry certifications such as Lean Six Sigma. Building experience in coordinator or supervisor roles at New York institutions is the most common pathway.
Which companies hire assistant operations managers in New York?
New York assistant operations manager roles are posted by Gap, CLEAR, and Motivate and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New York's density of corporate headquarters, major hospital systems, and large distribution centers means openings appear across a wide range of industries statewide.
Which New York cities have the most assistant operations manager jobs?
New York, Queens, and Brooklyn have the most assistant operations manager openings in New York right now. New York City dominates due to its concentration of corporate headquarters, financial institutions, and healthcare networks, while Buffalo and Albany generate consistent demand through manufacturing, state government operations, and regional distribution activity anchored by large employers outside the metro core.
Are there remote assistant operations manager jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of assistant operations manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting that most of the role involves on-site coordination, facility oversight, and direct staff supervision. The portions most likely to go remote or hybrid are administrative reporting, vendor communication, and data analysis responsibilities within larger corporate operations teams.
How can I get hired as a assistant operations manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an operations coordinator or administrative supervisor role first, then stepping up internally. Large New York employers in healthcare, such as Northwell Health and NYC Health + Hospitals, and major logistics operators in the New York metro regularly hire operations associates with no prior management experience. Completing a Lean Six Sigma white belt or a project management credential strengthens applications, and lateral moves from roles in scheduling, inventory, or customer operations are common routes into the title.
Where can I find and apply to assistant operations manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to assistant operations manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your background and location, and apply directly to whichever ones fit.
