Quality Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality manager in New York?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, operations, or business, followed by progressive quality roles in a regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or food manufacturing. New York does not issue a state license specific to quality managers, but employers in highly regulated sectors typically require or strongly prefer ASQ certifications such as the Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer. Building experience in FDA-regulated or ISO-certified New York facilities accelerates hiring significantly.
How much do quality managers make in New York?
Quality managers in New York earn a median of about $130,470 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $81,960 for the lowest 10% to over $206,450 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality managers in New York?
Employers hiring quality managers in New York right now include Mace, NYU Langone Health, and ALSTOM, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical device, and defense sectors generate particularly consistent demand, with large anchor employers maintaining quality teams across multiple facilities statewide.
Which New York cities have the most quality manager jobs?
The cities with the most quality manager openings in New York are New York, Albany, and Dunkirk. New York City dominates due to its concentration of financial services quality and compliance roles alongside healthcare and biotech employers, while Long Island and the Hudson Valley draw openings from defense contractors, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and medical device companies with major production facilities in those corridors.
Are there remote quality manager jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're relatively uncommon. Quality manager roles are largely hands-on, requiring physical presence on manufacturing floors, in laboratories, or at supplier sites for audits and inspections. About 11% of quality manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026. The functions most likely to accommodate remote work are quality systems administration, documentation management, and supplier audit coordination.
How can I get hired as a quality manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a quality technician, quality control inspector, or quality assurance associate role at a regulated manufacturer, then building toward a supervisory position. New York's large pharmaceutical and medical device employers, including those on Long Island and in the Hudson Valley, regularly hire recent engineering or life sciences graduates into associate quality roles. Earning an entry-level ASQ certification such as the Certified Quality Inspector or Certified Quality Technician credential demonstrates commitment and gives candidates a concrete edge over uncredentialed applicants.
Where can I find and apply to quality manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to quality manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find roles that fit your background and target location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
