The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation. Role Purpose:
Lead the development and execution of Global Supply Management (GSM) strategic sourcing strategies, policies, tactics, and objectives for assigned complex global commodities. Drive supply assurance, cost competitiveness, quality, innovation, sustainability, and risk mitigation initiatives while aligning sourcing strategies with business unit, commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Fairport Strategic Sourcing team and support achievement of business objectives.
- Effectively leads and develops a team to achieve business objectives while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute sourcing and commodity strategies that balance cost, quality, delivery, risk, innovation, and sustainability.
- Lead supplier selection, competitive bidding, contract negotiations, and commercial agreements.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to improve performance, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Drive supplier risk management activities, including capacity assessments, business continuity planning, and second-source development.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to support business growth and operational requirements.
- Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives, supplier development efforts, and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with Global Buying Policies, contracting standards, and GSM governance requirements.
- Develop and communicate market intelligence and supply chain insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Own the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process for assigned commodities and strategic suppliers.

Education & Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations.
- Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations, contracting, supplier performance management, and strategic sourcing.
- Strong analytical, financial, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive business results.
- Experience managing complex sourcing initiatives in technical manufacturing environments.
Preferred:
- Industry experience in optics, photonics, or precision-engineered products, including familiarity with optical manufacturing processes, technical suppliers, and complex engineered supply chains.
- Experience sourcing technical commodities or complex engineered products.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
- Experience across multiple businesses, technologies, or global manufacturing environments.
- Experience working within matrix organizations and cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of supplier quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or Performance Excellence training.
- CPSM, APICS, PMP, or similar professional certification.

Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week

The range for this position is $131,938.00 - $181,415.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
