At Fiorilli Construction, we're looking for a construction procurement leader who can see margin opportunity before buyout, build trade and supplier relationships that create real competitive advantage, and turn smarter sourcing into measurable gross-profit improvement. This is not a traditional purchasing-agent role and it is not a Project Manager seat. You will own a company-wide procurement strategy that decides where turnkey subcontracting makes sense - and where Fiorilli can create more value by purchasing materials directly and pairing them with specialty labor-only or nimbler trade partners.
WHY FIORILLI?
Fiorilli's #1 differentiator is its culture, Core Focus, and Core Values. We build through a customer-centric approach, "Building Together" culture, and a 'Fio-Family' environment that encourages people to grow, contribute, and take ownership. We're also serious about working smarter: Fiorilli is virtual, mobile, and digital, using platforms such as Jonas Premier and other technology-forward tools to make information visible, improve decisions, and produce better construction outcomes.
- Competitive salary plus quarterly profit-based incentives centered on individual and company achievement
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance plus HSA company matching
- 401(k) retirement/profit-sharing plan with company matching
- Paid vacation, sick, holiday, birthday/work-anniversary, and concentrated time-off benefits, subject to role and project requirements
- Short-term disability, travel reimbursement, and health/wellness resources
- Career-development and internal-growth opportunities through Fiorilli University programs
- Company events and employee-led initiatives supporting Fiorilli's work-hard / play-hard culture
You'll have a direct line of sight to the bottom line: stronger buyout strategy, better supplier access, deeper trade-partner coverage, less bid-day guesswork, and repeatable savings that scale across Fiorilli's commercial construction portfolio.
YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Preconstruction, you will own Fiorilli's company-wide procurement, strategic sourcing, and specialty trade-partner development function. This is a high-ownership manager/individual-contributor seat with no direct reports initially, working as the strategic bridge between Preconstruction, Estimating, Operations, Field Leadership, and Finance. Your scorecard is built around five accountabilities:
- PROCUREMENT STRATEGY & BUYOUT OPTIMIZATION - Review plans, specifications, CSI divisions, and bid assumptions; identify the best mix of direct-buy, labor-only, and turnkey procurement; validate market pricing and TCO; and drive a target of at least 3% blended savings across targeted categories.
- TRADE PARTNER DEVELOPMENT & SUPPLIER RELATIONS - Own specialty trade-partner vetting and build a deep sourcing toolbox of trusted installers, suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and national accounts with competitive pricing, capacity, and backup coverage.
- DIRECT PURCHASING & CATEGORY MANAGEMENT - Centralize recurring General Conditions purchasing, execute direct material buys and labor-only subcontracts, manage prioritized CSI sourcing categories, and control lead times, logistics, supplier programs, rebates, and warranties.
- CONTROLS, REPORTING & FORECASTING - Make procurement performance visible through Jonas, KPI scorecards, savings/COGS analysis, commitment tracking, forecast reporting, supplier data, and accurate reconciliation of procurement results to project budgets.
- CROSS-FUNCTIONAL SUPPORT & IMPROVEMENT - Create clean procurement turnover to Operations, train the team on processes and tools, capture lessons learned, solve procurement-related execution issues, and continuously improve the system without allowing the role to drift into routine PM or field responsibilities.
Your highest-priority sourcing opportunities will include company-wide General Conditions purchases and repeatable, material-heavy trades such as interior carpentry/drywall, flooring, painting/coatings, rough carpentry and lumber, doors/frames/hardware, specialties, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and selected mechanical equipment. Fiorilli serves commercial markets across the Midwest including retail, restaurant/QSR, convenience/fuel/grocery, self-storage/light industrial, multifamily/mixed-use/hospitality, healthcare, education/childcare/religious, office, and sports/recreation.
YOUR SCHEDULE
This is a full-time role based through Fiorilli's Richfield, Ohio headquarters. The work is primarily Preconstruction/procurement focused, with regular collaboration in the office plus supplier, manufacturer, trade-partner, and occasional project-site meetings as needed. Fiorilli supports flexible and remote-work practices where role responsibilities allow, but this position requires enough in-person engagement to build relationships, review opportunities, and keep procurement decisions connected to real project execution.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5+ years of professional commercial construction experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, estimating, project management, operations, or a closely related role
- Strong knowledge of commercial subcontractor markets, material purchasing, buyout strategy, and the cost drivers behind construction Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
- Ability to read and analyze drawings, specifications, scopes, takeoffs, and project requirements at a high level and translate them into procurement decisions
- Demonstrated skill negotiating pricing, scope, terms, lead times, and commercial arrangements with subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors
- Strong financial and analytical capability, including TCO thinking, bid/quote comparison, cost-variance analysis, and advanced spreadsheet skills
- Comfort preparing scopes, purchase orders, and labor-only subcontract documents and using Jonas or a comparable construction ERP/project-management platform
- Relationship-driven, curious, entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, highly accountable, and comfortable addressing conflict directly while protecting long-term partnerships
You'll do especially well here if you understand both sides of the construction table: how estimators build a number, how Operations needs a buyout to execute, and how the right supplier or specialty trade relationship can turn material markup, market knowledge, and purchasing leverage into a sustainable competitive advantage.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS - AND ISN'T
This role owns Procurement and Strategic Trade Partner Sourcing & Development. You may occasionally backstop estimating or project needs when strategically necessary, but you are not the full-time Estimator, Project Manager, Job Coordinator, Superintendent, or material purchasing only role. We want the person in this seat spending the overwhelming majority of their time building and institutionalizing a procurement function that produces measurable company-wide results.
OUR MISSION + CULTURE

READY TO APPLY?
If you're a commercial construction professional who can read the job, understand the buyout, build the relationship, and find a smarter way to procure it, we'd like to meet you. Start with Fiorilli's quick, mobile-friendly application through the Careers page at fio-con.com and tell us about the sourcing, buyout, supplier, or trade-partner wins you've created.
