Maintenance Manager Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager will maintain the Plant’s equipment, ensuring it is safe, reliable, productive, and cost efficient. Responsible for handling OSHA, EPA, and DOT inspections no less than once per year and ensuring the plant is compliant with all regulations. The Maintenance Manager directly supervises a maintenance crew of between 3 and 12 teammates and indirectly supervises over 50+ Plant teammates.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises and assists with workload alongside the maintenance crew including training and mentoring. Additionally, monitoring attendance and vacation, as well as taking disciplinary action when needed.

Safety

Continuously inspecting equipment, ensuring it is safe, stays productive, cost effective, and within its parameters

Ensuring that all teammates are working in a safe environment and in a safe manner using all safety equipment

Equipment Reliability
-
Tracking downtime and quality control issues
- Conducting failure mode analysis and determining preventative maintenance procedures
-
Tracking production/productivity issues
-
R&M monthly budgeting, Capital Budget, etc.

Planning daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual activities and planning scheduled repair outages
-
Emergency repairs
-
Completing daily reports on the CMMS and hard copy
-
Filing and organizing quotes, work orders, operating checks, drawings, procedures, etc.
-
Investigating, researching, developing, and documenting procedures for equipment maintenance and breakdown repair. Maintain and operate plant security systems, fire protection systems, and emergency generator
-
Comparing part pricing, researching vendors, and ordering parts. Establishing delivery dates and scheduling, inventory, and maintaining control of adequate supply of spare parts

Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Above average mathematical skills - addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic blueprints and schematics
- Above average understanding of process chemical flows with regards to acid, rinse water system, and waste water treatment system
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic breakdowns
- Ability to troubleshoot and start up drive systems
- Ability to interpret MSDS forms, organize, and coordinate "right-to-know" responsibilities
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot pickle line hydraulic system and compressed air system including piping, pumps, cylinders, and control valve sets
- Ability to sketch and design simple piping and electrical changes
- Knowledge of each operation/process available within the facility
- Knowledge of EPA regulations
- Knowledge of concentration test procedures required for raw acid, process acid, drawing lubricant, and coating oil testing
- Knowledge of Emergency Evacuation and Hazardous Material Skill Emergency Contingency Plan
- Knowledge of the drive system interlocks and start-up/shut-down procedures
- Knowledge of start-up/shut-down for the boiler, wet section, waste water treatment system, process water well system, and emergency generator system
- Knowledge of emergency and service representative contracts for gas, water, and electric utilities
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to routinely twist, bend, stoop, and squat
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to repetitively reach and grasp
- Ability to frequently lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs

Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in a related field. May substitute degree for four to five years of maintenance experience, with some type of leadership training. Formal education may be substituted with experience and training when competency in the position is demonstrated.
Electrical experience is highly preferred.
Working Conditions:
This is a safety sensitive position. Very loud, much like near a jack hammer or sitting in the front row of a concert.
