Volunteer Coordinator Jobs in Ohio

The Stark County Park District is currently seeking a full time Volunteer Coordinator to advance and implement the recruitment and reward strategies for our 300+ volunteers. The right candidate will have daily successful oversight and interaction with volunteers, will be responsible for coordinating volunteer projects, providing metrics and analytics regarding volunteer involvement, working successfully in a team environment and be able to help support the overall mission of Stark Parks.

Essential Functions:

• Attend appropriate programs requiring flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
• Work with department managers and Park Director to identify Park District needs for volunteers, recommend further action in regard to the Volunteer Program and assign volunteers based on skill and need.
• Work with community agencies (corporate groups, local social and civic groups, other volunteers, etc.) to develop likely volunteer projects, partnerships and volunteer options as well as to ensure community involvement.
• Recruit, appropriately screen and select volunteers for various programs; oversee volunteer activities.
• Effectively work with existing volunteer groups to ensure a successful transition of volunteers under one brand for any new property acquisitions.
• Develop, oversee, and conduct volunteer orientation and training to ensure proper onboarding of all Park District volunteers.
• Identify, develop and implement additional training programs as needed for various volunteer groups.
• Evaluate volunteer programs, determine effectiveness, and monitor staff integration and supervision of volunteers.
• Ensure proper tracking and recording of volunteer hours. Provide data and analysis of hours worked.
• Serve as a point of contact for all volunteer needs; maintain appropriate communication with volunteers through newsletters, meetings, correspondence and website.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures for all volunteer activities.
• Develop, implement and periodically review a strategic plan for recruitment and rewards of all Stark County Park District Volunteers.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills including a close familiarity with Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Previous experience with CRM (customer relationship management) software and analytics
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at once.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's degree preferred; 3 years of experience as a volunteer coordinator or related experience required.

Pay Range: $50,003.20- $61,068.80

This position requires working various hours and days of the week, some holidays and weekends are required. Must be eligible for employment in the United States, have a valid driver's license, be insurable. Pre-employment background check and drug screening will be performed.
