Great Lakes Radiant & Industrials is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Branch Operations Associate to support our Akron, OH location.

This is not a traditional warehouse or call center position. We are looking for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable taking on a wide range of responsibilities throughout the day. This position combines customer service, sales support, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, inventory management, deliveries, and general branch support.

You may spend part of your day answering customer calls, assisting customers with product questions, checking pricing and availability, preparing quotes, or processing orders. The next, you may be receiving inventory, picking and packing orders, preparing UPS or LTL shipments, delivering products to customers, or organizing the warehouse.

Because we are a small branch office, the ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, comfortable working independently, and willing to step in wherever needed to keep the branch operating efficiently. Training will include hands-on instruction and ongoing virtual training through Microsoft Teams with experienced team members located in our other offices.

This position also provides an opportunity for advancement. If the candidate excels in the Branch Operations Associate role and develops an interest in sales, there may be an opportunity to transition into a full-time Sales position with benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service, Branch Operations & Sales Support

• Assist customers by phone, email, and in person with product inquiries, pricing, availability, order status, and basic technical questions.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service and work to resolve customer issues using strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Answer incoming phone calls, transfer calls to the appropriate extension, and take detailed messages when employees are unavailable.
• Prepare customer quotes and accurately process sales orders.
• Assist customers with product pickups and other in-person needs.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of our commercial heating products and continue learning new products, systems, and applications.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members at other locations using Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, and other company systems.
• Assist with day-to-day branch operations and perform other duties as needed to support the team.
• Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and welcoming office and customer-facing environment.

Warehouse, Inventory & Shipping

• Receive, inspect, organize, and stock incoming inventory.
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for UPS, FedEx, and LTL freight shipments.
• Prepare shipments accurately and ensure products are properly packaged and labeled.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in monthly inventory counts.
• Assist customers with order pickups.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe.
• Operate a forklift safely; training and certification will be provided.
• Safely load, unload, move, and organize products throughout the warehouse and branch.

Local Deliveries

• Deliver products to customer and client locations using a company-provided vehicle when needed.
• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload products.
• Provide professional customer service during product deliveries.
• Verify products and quantities prior to delivery and obtain necessary delivery documentation when required.

Qualifications

Required

• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum of (1) year of warehouse experience.
• Minimum of (1) year of customer service experience.
• Minimum of (1) year of Microsoft Office experience.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move boxes weighing up to 75 pounds on a regular basis throughout the workday.
• Resume required with application.
