INTRODUCTION
Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines. Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands. The Head of Workforce Strategy and Operations is a leadership role designed to empower, orchestrate, and maximize the collective impact of our specialized internal teams across talent footprint, business execution, finance, and physical workplace operations. In this role, you will bring together these existing, business-critical functions into a unified ecosystem, providing advocacy and advanced operational infrastructure for the teams that drive them. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Establish and lead operating processes and tools for effectively managing the organization and achieving goals.
- Influence team members and executive management to act and drive projects to completion.
- Identify problems and issues across the organization and define/lead programs and processes to solve them.
- Lead a team of individuals; set and communicate individual and team priorities that support organizational goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.
- 3 years of experience managing or leading teams.
- Experience working with and analyzing data, and managing multiple cross-functional programs or projects.
- Experience building a workforce planning strategy at a global organization, including developing resource management systems, processes, and tools.
- Experience in financial modeling and capacity planning.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with R, SQL, spreadsheets, or similar analytics tools.
- Experience working with product and engineering teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $222000 - $309000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits
