Quality Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality manager in Texas?
The standard path into a quality manager role in Texas begins with a bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, or a closely related field, followed by hands-on experience in a quality or manufacturing environment. Texas does not require a state-issued license for quality managers, but employers across aerospace, defense, and medical device sectors consistently favor candidates who hold American Society for Quality credentials such as the Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer designation, which require passing a proctored exam and meeting experience requirements set by ASQ.
How much do quality managers make in Texas?
Quality managers in Texas earn a median of about $130,890 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,780 for the lowest 10% to over $207,880 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality managers in Texas?
Employers hiring quality managers in Texas right now include Amazon, Burns & McDonnell, and Yates Construction, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of aerospace, defense, and regulated manufacturing operations means large primes and their supplier networks generate consistent quality manager demand across the state year-round.
Which Texas cities have the most quality manager jobs?
Austin, Houston, and Dallas have the most quality manager openings in Texas, a pattern driven by Houston's refining and medical device manufacturing base, the Dallas-Fort Worth area's dense cluster of aerospace, defense, and electronics employers, and San Antonio's growing advanced manufacturing and military-adjacent supply chain that pulls steady demand from both large primes and tier-two suppliers.
Are there remote quality manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Quality management work is largely hands-on, requiring physical presence on production floors, during supplier audits, and throughout inspection processes, which limits fully remote opportunities. About 5% of quality manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions tend to concentrate in quality systems, supplier development, and documentation-heavy compliance roles where site visits are periodic rather than daily.
How can I get hired as a quality manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a quality inspector, quality technician, or quality engineer role first, then building toward management. Large Texas manufacturers such as Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, Samsung Austin Semiconductor, and major medical device companies in the Houston medical center corridor regularly post associate quality engineer and quality technician roles that do not require prior management experience. Completing an ASQ Certified Quality Technician or Certified Quality Inspector exam and gaining familiarity with ISO documentation and audit support work gives candidates a clear edge when applying to these stepping-stone positions.
Where can I find and apply to quality manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to quality manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and target location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
