People Operations Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a people operations manager in Texas?
Texas does not require a state-issued license to work as a people operations manager, so the path starts with a bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field followed by hands-on HR experience. Most Texas employers expect a nationally recognized credential such as the SHRM-CP or PHR before considering candidates for manager-level roles. Building experience in HR generalist or coordinator positions at Texas-based companies, particularly in high-volume industries like energy, technology, or healthcare, is the most direct route.
How much do people operations managers make in Texas?
People operations managers in Texas earn a median of about $136,500 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $83,200 for the lowest 10% to over $226,050 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire people operations managers in Texas?
Employers hiring people operations managers in Texas right now include Walgreens, Amazon, and Abercrombie & Fitch, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of large corporate headquarters, particularly in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and Austin technology corridor, means a wide range of industries from financial services to software maintain active people operations teams year-round.
Which Texas cities have the most people operations manager jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Austin have the most people operations manager openings in Texas. Austin's rapid growth in the technology sector drives strong demand there, while Dallas-Fort Worth's density of corporate headquarters across finance, logistics, and healthcare produces a steady volume of openings, and Houston's energy and medical complex anchor hiring in that market.
Are there remote people operations manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most HR roles, since people operations manager work is largely desk-based and systems-driven. About 5% of people operations manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly Texas-based tech and financial services companies have adopted flexible arrangements. The most remote-friendly responsibilities tend to be HRIS administration, policy development, and workforce analytics.
How can I get hired as a people operations manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an HR coordinator or generalist role at a mid-size Texas employer, where you can build exposure to the full employment lifecycle before stepping into a manager title. Large Texas institutions like Texas Health Resources, H-E-B, and major Austin-area technology firms run structured HR rotational or associate programs that accept candidates with limited experience. Earning a SHRM-CP or completing an HRCI certification gives candidates without a deep resume a measurable edge over those relying on degree alone.
Where can I find and apply to people operations manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to people operations manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across the state's major hiring metros and industries. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
